We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Stennett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued this career do to the fact that in highschool I was an artist by hand. I would create oil painting and do self portrait d oft
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have a passion for arts and crafts and while learning how to use canvases in school I developed overtime the mindset of becoming an art teacher, however thru my art and creativity I decided in 2020 when the pandemic started I no longer wanted to work for corporate America and decided to become a business owner and teach my kids the fundamentals of becoming creative in their own way. So as I began the journey of becoming a CEO of Amy’s Creative Hands I wanted to touch the world with my gifts and my talents one project at a time.. It was rough getting the business off the ground however I stayed the course and kept pressing my way… I overcame alot of my obstacles thru prayer, music and surrounding myself around business minded ppl who would give me motivation or words of encouragement thru the process. The lessons I’ve learn is to have patience and be consistent in everything that I do. Thru my business I wanna touch all diversities and different cultures by being creative and designing masterpieces one project at a time…. I wanna be the light that shines thru the dark tunnels and my business not only creative but we are colorful and each design I created or customized it always made from the heart.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would have to say downtown Atlanta due to the fact Atlanta is the city of art of many cultures and they have shown thru music, dance, poetry, and art so it would be based in Atlanta. Wet willies would be a great start of a hot day with a frozen daiquiri
Cheesecake factory is my Besties favorite spot
We would definitely go botanical garden
The world of coca cola and we will do alot of sight seeing while walking the streets of Atlanta
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes I would like to shout-out my instructor Keesha Mason whom took me under her wings and showed me the diversity of the art world by creative one Tshirt at a time, she also showed me several other projects and she was consistent and very patient with me as I was learning the different skills and techniques to create different kinds of creative and customize gifts
