We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Covington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting our own party planning and balloon display business really came from a passion for creativity and a love for making people happy through visual experiences. We’ve both always had an artistic side—whether it’s design, color coordination, or creating memorable spaces—and events felt like the perfect outlet for that creativity.

We started to notice how much of a difference thoughtful décor, especially unique balloon installations, could make. Whether it was a kid’s birthday or a corporate event, people were always drawn to the visuals—it set the mood and often became what everyone talked about. That’s when we realized there was a real opportunity to offer something more personalized, imaginative, and visually impactful.
At first, we did small projects for friends and family, then started getting more clients as word spread. We treated every event like a creative challenge, but also made sure to be professional and reliable. We took the time to learn the business side—everything from logistics to customer service—so we could deliver a full experience, not just great décor.
Starting this business has really allowed us to combine what we love—being creative—with something that makes a lasting impact. Every event reminds us why we started: to turn celebrations into art and help people create moments they’ll always remember.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our journey to starting this business has definitely had its twists and turns, but every step has brought us closer to doing something we truly love.

Katie comes from a strong background in Human Resources, with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a M.S in Organizational Leadership. Her career has always centered around people—understanding them, supporting them, and helping teams thrive. That empathy and organizational mindset have been huge assets in event planning, where details and emotional connection really matter.
Amy brings creative vision to our business. She has a degree in Journalism and Photography, which fuels her love for visual storytelling and design. She’s worn a lot of hats—teaching, nannying, accounting, and now payroll—and each role has added to the diverse skill set she brings to what we do today.
What really sets us apart is how our strengths balance each other. We blend structure with creativity, empathy with imagination, and share the same passion for making people feel something through our work. We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come—especially knowing we’ve built this business from the ground up while juggling work, family, and everything in between.
It hasn’t always been easy. Like most small business owners, we’ve faced our share of challenges—time constraints, self-doubt, and a steep learning curve. But we’ve stayed true to our purpose and pushed through with determination, teamwork, and plenty of late nights.
At the end of the day, what makes it all worth it is the joy we bring to others—especially kids. Seeing their faces light up when they walk into a party we’ve designed is the best feeling.
If there’s one thing we want people to know about our brand, it’s that we create more than just balloon displays or party setups—we create memories and relationships. Every detail comes from the heart, and our goal is always to make people feel celebrated, seen, and special.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Cartersville:

If I had a friend visiting Cartersville for a week, I’d tell them to get ready for a mix of small-town charm, great food, and surprisingly world-class attractions. It’s a place where art, history, and nature all come together in a really authentic way.
We’d start downtown — that’s the heart of Cartersville. The historic square is full of local shops, murals, and a few great restaurants like Table 20 and Appalachian Grill, where you can get Southern-inspired dishes with a creative twist. It’s got that laid-back, hometown vibe, but the food scene keeps getting better every year. One of the things I’d definitely plan is a day at the Booth Western Art Museum. It’s actually a Smithsonian affiliate, and the collection of Western and Native American art is incredible — people are always surprised that something like that exists in a town this size. I’d also stop by the Tellus Science Museum and the Savoy Automobile Museum, which are both unique and interactive, whether you’re into science, art, or cars. For a change of pace, we’d spend a day outdoors at Red Top Mountain State Park or by Lake Allatoona — great spots for hiking, paddleboarding, or just relaxing by the water. Another can’t-miss experience is visiting the Etowah Indian Mounds, which gives you a real sense of the area’s ancient history. As for food, there’s no shortage of great local spots. The City Cellar & Loft is one of my go-tos for dinner, and if you want something fun and casual, Ate Track Bar & Grill always has a good crowd. For breakfast, Ross Diner is that classic Southern spot everyone in town knows. What makes Cartersville special, in my opinion, is the balance — you can spend the morning exploring art that rivals big-city museums, the afternoon hiking along the lake, and the evening eating incredible local food, all without the crowds or stress. Locals love that combination of relaxation and discovery — it’s friendly, it’s creative, and it feels genuinely connected to its roots.
So, if someone asked me what to do here for a week, I’d say: slow down, explore, eat well, and enjoy the charm. Cartersville isn’t flashy, but it’s full of heart — and that’s what makes it memorable.

Woodstock:
If a friend came to visit me in Woodstock, GA for a week, I’d show them why locals love calling it the perfect mix of small-town charm and big personality. We’d start downtown—grabbing coffee at Copper Coin or Reformation Brewery, walking through the shops, murals, and live music spots that make the area so lively. During the week, we’d spend some time outdoors at Olde Rope Mill Park or Blankets Creek Trail, maybe kayaking or biking, then relax with dinner at Rootstock, Century House, or Aqua Blue—all local favorites known for great food and atmosphere. One night, we might check out Dixie Speedway for some authentic local fun, or catch live music at the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village. What makes Woodstock special is its balance—it’s close enough to Atlanta for easy access, but it feels tight-knit, creative, and genuinely welcoming. It’s a place where you can hike in the morning, dine like a foodie at night, and still feel like part of a real community.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Our biggest inspiration has always been our kids, friends, and family. They were the first ones to believe in our creativity and encourage us to share it with others. It all started with small celebrations—birthday parties, baby showers, family gatherings—where we’d design balloon displays or decorate just for fun. Seeing the pure joy on the kids’ faces, and hearing how much those moments meant to everyone, really lit a spark in us.
It made us realize how powerful celebration and design can be—how something as simple as a balloon installation or a well-planned setup can create lasting memories. That joy and excitement, especially from the children, was contagious. They reminded us of the importance of magic, color, and imagination in people’s lives.
Our loved ones pushed us to turn what we loved doing into something bigger. Their support and belief in our talent gave us the confidence to take the leap, and to this day, they’re still our biggest cheerleaders and our “why” behind everything we do.
