Meet Amy Cobb | Artist & Creative Partner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Cobb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I have always had my hands in art. Art Education was my major. The process of creating art to express ones thoughts has been my passion- to nurture in others and to find a way to illustrate my own meditations. The most important factor in my work was coming to the realization that I had something to say-and it was critical for me to speak it. People needed to hear it. My company is called Creative Partners. Three years ago I embarked on a journey to deal with my anxiety by following the advise of Jesus, who in the Sermon on the Mount, told his followers to “consider the birds” when they were anxious. I call my works of art seeds of faith, hope, and love. Once dk Gallery began displaying my work I found out that there were a lot of people just like me dealing with fear. The images that I create speak hope and remind the viewer that they are not alone and that the Creator of the universe sees and cares about each one of them. I am confident that this message of faith to walk out in this world with strength and courage that I depict in my paintings has been the most important factor behind my success. Through creating art I have given considerable time to mediating on the incredible care that God has for the smallest of His creatures and it has changed my life.+
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I use my art to help people find meaning in their journey-the whole journey-the easy and the hard parts. I love to experiment with a variety of mediums.
I became a bee keeper 10 years ago and began experimenting with encaustic medium. This has been a game changer for my work!
My biggest challenge is finding time to escape the business of life and work in my studio. Creating art is a sacred activity and it is in that space I have learned to quiet my mind and find strength in the storms of life and illustrate a message of hope through my images to encourage others. I can’t think of better way to spend my days here than to lighten the load of just one person with my art.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The High in Atlanta
Barcelona Wine Bar

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband built me a home studio and gives me the freedom to create, I have found endless inspiration from my six children, and my small yard farm of goats, doves, dogs, chickens, and other assorted animals. All of the collectors of my art and the stories they share with me which encourage me to continue in this work. And last but not least I would like to give a shout out to Donna Krueger at dk Gallery in Marietta Square. She has been a supporter of the work from day one and continues to give direction, encouragement, and new opportunities for my message of faith, hope, and love.
