We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting this business was to put into practice what I have done for over 20 years in this sector. If you ask what that is then that is to allow an avenue of support, healing and accountability for people with behavioral health and substance addiction concerns.

What should our readers know about your business?
Reclamation Center of Alabama, LLC & RCA Foundation are Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Treatment Provider. RCA Foundation was chartered and certified by Alabama Department of Mental Health during the COVID-19 Pandemic to assist individuals to reach treatment via telehealth services. This has always been the plan for RCA since 2018 to treat and reach individuals in the state of Alabama in rural areas to provide them treatment.

It took perseverance, patience and capital to achieve this goal and no it was not easy. I was able to overcome obstacles through prayer and meditation for it took a great deal of quieting my mind to hear solutions from my source “God”.

The overall lesson I learned was to keep pushing and do not try to fit in but the trendsetter and example.

The brand is constantly evolving and transcending my initial thoughts and plans and it really exciting. Our organization has learned that if a person the true core and essence of who they are it helps them heal from addiction and struggles. Our mission is “Teaching individuals to reclaim the lives they once had through strength and recovery”. Our organization will be developing a Holistic approach to incorporate in our program for self-pay individuals needing more guidance in their treatment.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A few interesting places are the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Al and the High Museum in downtown Atlanta. Both are full history and education as well as surrounded by great restaurants like the Central Restaurant in Montgomery, AL and Twelve Eighty Restaurant near the High Museum in downtown Atlanta, GA.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people that helped make this journey possible by guiding and keeping me encouraged when the light got a little dim. My husband (Orlando Anderson) and my Executive Director (Amy Perry) were the two warriors that also saw the vision along the way.
