We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Vaughn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In 2020 and 2021, I experienced a lot of stress and anxiety, and both affected the way I worked remotely and in-person, how I ran a brand previously known as Amber’s Bracelets Store, and the way I responded to things.

I researched different ways to relieve the stress and anxiety. Then, I came across meditation and chakra alignment. I read more about what they were, and how they can help with my stress and anxiety.

I started playing meditation music on my computer at work, wore clothes that match the colors of the 7 chakras, wore chakra jewelry, and played meditation music at night to help me sleep. Shortly after doing all of this, I saw a change emotionally and mentally.

I also saw a change of direction for my previous brand, Amber’s Bracelets Store. In November 2021, I decided to rebrand Amber’s Bracelets Store into Healing with H’armani.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started in a marketing agency after college, where I wrote social media content and monitored social media accounts on behalf of business owners.

Following that, I worked for a moving company where I assisted potential and current clients with the onboarding process of moving, whether it was local, long distance, or international; residential or corporate.

Soon after, I was working in the Communications department of a B2B law firm assisting with creating internal documents within the department.

Currently, I work full time for a consulting firm in New York City.

I would like everyone to know that it’s okay to diversify your professional life, whether you have a degree in that particular field or not.

Being a business owner is about learning and understanding new things can can help elevate your business better, even if that means working in different fields or industries.

In each role I had, I was able to learn a lot of different things that can be brought into my brand, which I am thankful for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Jersey City, I would take my best friend to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

We would also eat and drink at recommended restaurants in the Jersey City/Hoboken areas (e.g. Southhouse, Lighthorse Tavern, The Hamilton Inn, Harry’s Daughter, Corgi – for drinks) or in New York City (Dallas BBQ or Margaritaville).

We would go to local events and festivals (especially in the summertime), sip and paint in local areas.

We would also see some musicals in the Theater District in NYC. Some of my favorites are Wicked, Anastasia, and Aladdin.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shoutout to all of my family members, friends, and sorority sisters who have supported me in every way possible for the past two years.

I would also like to give a shoutout to my former marketing and public relations professors and mentors for helping learn the tools I needed to learn in college. All of the knowledge they provided me with helped with the marketing for my business.

Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
