We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
When it comes to GAM Photography I always think of my grandmother first. The name it self stands for Gwendolyn and Marie’s Photography. My grandmother always have been my inspiration and I just want to be able to be at least half the woman she was. She believed in me becoming a photographer before I even knew that was something I truly wanted to do. She is the reason no matter how many obstacles I may face that I have not given up. Of course nothing in life is easy, but trying to be great in a profession that is known to be a “male dominated” industry it can be a little bit discouraging at times, however I have to remember not only am I great but my grandmother thought I was great since I was a little girl so there is absolutely no way I will be giving up. Photography is truly my passion, I truly enjoy making people smile, brightening up their days and most importantly bringing peoples visions to life.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m an Atlanta based photographer who’s been doing photography for nine years now. I take pride in turning peoples visions into reality. I think of photography as art and art is life. Being in the photography industry hasn’t been easy at all, especially when it’s set out to be a male dominated industry. However, I’ve been able to overcome so many obstacles as far as lack of support, overcoming the COVID-19 era and not being able to shoot for months as well as becoming partially disable behind a incident that occurred in 2022. Overall I managed to always keep God first, stay focused and perfect my craft and more than anything, never give up! My goal is to be one of the best photographers in Atlanta and more importantly one of the most respected photographers in this era of time. In the next few months I will be adding on a new service to GAM Photography that I can not wait to announce. I look forward to the near future and what’s to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestfriend was in town I would definitely take them first to Waffle House for breakfast I know it sound so plain but I absolutely love Waffle House and will choose it everyday. We would go various of places throughout the week like VVS, The High Museum, City Winery, Lenox Mall, Botanical Gardens, we would most definitely have a picnic at Piedmont Park and to end the week we would definitely do brunch on Sunday. I absolutely love late night car rides overlooking the city so we would most definitely be taking a car ride down highway 75/85.
