We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Casciano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
This wasn’t a path I ever saw for myself. I was always the one who said “it’s just easier to come in to work and leave at the end of the day”. Then we got hit with a global pandemic. As most people in the world, it forced me to think about my self and my career in a different light. What do I want with my life? What do I want for my career? After working at my previous job for 8 years, I realized it’s my time. I learned so much over those 8 years that I hadn’t realized I retained. I wanted to create a space that was just for me. A space that has no limits. A space where my clients can feel safe and themselves.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Studio LAMPZ is a private salon suite that I created. Here you will get a completely customized experience service made just for you. My 100% undivided attention is focused around created the safest space possible for my guests. I encourage my guests to be their true selves and relax while I help make them feel and look their best. I couldn’t be more proud of myself for taking this step in my career. In the past I lacked confidence in my skills and knowledge. Being a business owner in my own salon is something I never thought I would have the capacity to achieve. After many hiccups on my life financially and emotionally, I slowly started getting my act together until everything started really snowballing for me. I have read so many books along the way to make me realize a lot of things I already knew about myself but how to apply them to my real life. I’m currently reading The Miracle Club. Now, I’m the most confident I’ve ever been. Studio LAMPZ is about change, control, and cool. Always evolving.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If we are talking pre-pandemic this is my ideal Atlanta week! It’s a summer Sunday and we are ending the weekend at Woodward and Park for brunch and going straight to Chaka Khan afterwards. The week will be filled with coffee from Condesa, probably everyday. We will probably hop around Inman park stopping by Social Status and Good Times to buy things we don’t need. A lunch stop at Victory is a must and then bar hopping down the beltline that will consist of only drinking at Guacy Margys. We will definitely do a day lounging around Grant park and swing on the swings there. We will have dinner at La Fonda one night as well as go to Manny’s for cheap drinks and wings. Thursday night we go to Woodward and Park again for fried chicken Sammie’s. By Friday we go to Hop City snd grab a few natty wine bottles to get us through the next few days! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Firstly, I want to thank my fiancé, Kyle, for helping me see I am strong enough and smart enough to take this journey on my own. Secondly, I have to shoutout Melrose & McQueen for guiding me throughout my career so far. I grew into the person and stylist I am now from everyone in that company.
