We had the good fortune of connecting with Amari Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amari, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I grew up soaking in all forms of media – music, YouTube, movies, anime, TV shows, video games, and books. Since I wasn’t on social media as a kid, I had to find my own ways to get creative. That meant taking the family camcorder to make silly videos, acting out my favorite movies with my siblings, role-playing in the LEGO Batman game with my brother, or just sitting by myself imagining I was inside the games I’d see in the latest issue of Game Informer magazine.

I’ve always been the type to make something out of nothing, and a lot of that creativity came from the shows and creators I grew up on. Shows like Chowder, Adventure Time, and Codename: Kids Next Door. YouTubers like Dashie and Berleezy. I could go on forever about what shaped my creative journey, but really, the heart of it is simple: Whether it was watching movies, laughing at cartoons, or entertaining my siblings, I wanted to recreate the same fun and happiness I felt watching and doing those things with the world. That joy stuck with me – and I knew I wanted to pass it on to an audience of my own. To give people that same feeling, that same escape from whatever they’re going through.

I have so many talents I want to share with the world, and at the end of the day, so many things have played a role in shaping who I am as a person and as a creative. And now, finally getting the chance to bring these ideas I’ve been carrying since childhood to life? That’s the best feeling in the world!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My creative work spans across a lot of different outlets – graphic design, photography, filmmaking, voice acting, and YouTube. Right now, my main focus has been my YouTube channel, where I react to movies for the first time. What excites me most is not only discovering these amazing films I missed out on over the years, but also building a community of people who connect with my personality and share my love for storytelling. I’m especially excited about taking inspiration from the movies I watch and weaving it back into my other creative outlets like design, film, and photography.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. It took long hours of trial and error, rewatching my videos, and constantly figuring out how to improve. I started creating content in 2020, right after graduating high school, and those first years were all about learning by doing. It wasn’t always smooth, but every challenge was worth it. Over time, I learned how to create better edits, design stronger graphics and thumbnails, and overall elevate my craft into what it is today.

What helped me overcome those challenges was studying other creators, taking in feedback from my family, and realizing that the key is to just have fun. Consistency is important, but if you aren’t enjoying the process, it’s almost impossible to stick with it. Once I learned how to genuinely have fun with whatever I was creating, the consistency naturally followed.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that everything I create stems from a place of positivity. In a world that’s often filled with negativity and hate, I want to be a light – a reminder that a positive mindset can carry you through anything. I was blessed with great parents, siblings -Adrian, Alijah, Ajanee’, and a joyful spirit. I want to spread that same energy to others. Because at the end of the day, if my content can entertain, inspire, or simply make someone’s day a little brighter, then I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do. And I’m only just beginning!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta for a week, I’d definitely make sure they experienced a little bit of everything. First would be food, because I know Atlanta has way too many good spots. I haven’t had a chance to explore everything since I recently moved back out here, but I’d take them to a few good spots around the city. Places near Piedmont Park for a good breakfast or brunch, then maybe hit up The Varsity just for the experience. For soul food, we’d have to pull up to Busy Bee Café or Mary Mac’s Tea Room.

During the day, I’d show them the classics like the Georgia Aquarium, the Botanical Gardens, and the BeltLine for a walk or bike ride. We’d check out Little Five Points for the artsy vibe, cool thrift spots, and probably head downtown to see Centennial Olympic Park. At night, I’d want them to get the feel of Atlanta’s music scene, so we’d hit a live show or a lounge.

And for sure, we’d make some time just to chill at a Hawks or Braves game if it lines up, or just kick back with good food and a game night. Atlanta really has a mix of everything, so I’d make sure by the end of the week, they’d get the full experience of what makes the city a vibe – the food, the culture, the music, and the energy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I have to thank God for everything I have. I wouldn’t be where I am today, or have the opportunities I do, without him. Second, I’ve got to give a huge shoutout to my siblings. My little sister Ajaneé because she’s a reminder to maintain my inner child and goofy personality. My older brother Adrian, and younger brother Alijah. They’re both on their own creative journeys and have helped me in more ways than they know.

Adrian is an incredibly talented artist, currently working on his own stories that I know are going to be special once they drop. And Alijah is chasing his passion for directing and acting with so many amazing story ideas, and great short films that I get to help out with from time to time. Watching both of them grind and create inspires me to keep pushing on my own path too.
