We had the good fortune of connecting with Amari Malone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amari, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am a third generation entrepreneur and originally I just wanted to make money while home during covid. I started off with one client editing a podcast using skills that I’ve learned from using technology over the years. After a few months of working on the podcast my editing skills landed me 4 – 5 new clients and a lot of credibility. This is when my possibility of business became endless. I began exploring new skills and investing my time and learning my craft.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company A-N-M Marketing Co is a tech company that specializes in social media management and digital marketing. We strive to inspire others to take the journey of entrepreneurship, teach emerging business owners and entrepreneurs new and innovative marketing tactics for business growth and create authentic online marketing experiences. My company has started over 22 business 17 of which are black owned and I have created jobs and opportunities for 18+ people. I became a creative director during my latest project “So You Love Prada” The Dating Show which is a creative collaboration. In order to increase my client’s platform by 10,000 more women we staged a youtube series dating show that doubles as a PR stunt for social media marketing. This collaboration took 4 months of marketing research. The project started off with myself, my client and one cameraman and grew to a team of 6 interns, 2 assistances, a 4 person camera crew and serval consultants and contractors. I give every clients the same level of investment based on thiers needs and where they want to be in their business.
Consistency and Efficacy is how I got to where I am today. There were several major projects I pitched and was turned down several times I had to relearn and re visit but I never gave in on my belief and I never stopped trying. It took 5 tries to film the first episode of the youtube series and 5 months of filming for just 10 episodes but it was the most rewarding moment of my career thus far when the team I built was standing in celebration post recording the last scene of the show. I want you all to know there is nothing you cannot be there is nothing you cannot do there is nothing you cannot have!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week the first thing we would do is get some Vegan food and check out one of the lounges in Atlanta. The next day we would take a drive down to one of the waterfalls of GA and do a hike , picnic and yoga near the water. Day 3 would be a spa day mani and pedis then go skating in the evening. Day 4 would be all about market places and trying new foods maybe find a crystal shop in little 5 points and see what new things we can learn. Day 6 we would get dressed up and check out the Atlanta brunch and nightlife – what’s a trip to Atlanta if you don’t stay out until 5am right? Haha. Day 7 we would check out a healing season, get come custom jewelry made by one of my clients, and finish the night with a adult arcade night or a paint and sip.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A close friend of mine Yolanda Drew who helped me learn about building habits that help me advance my business
