We had the good fortune of connecting with Amani Jihan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amani, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success- Doing what you love and getting paid for it!
I always knew I wanted to be my own boss. I took the traditional route and went to Alabama State University for business, then attended vocational school for cosmetology. Once I acquired the credentials everything fell in place.
What should our readers know about your business?
Self proclaimed as BeautyQueen early in my life. But not the pageant type. I always knew I wanted to have a hair salon, ( like my grandmother did). I just didn’t have a blueprint, so I formulated my print by understanding the environment around me and gaining experiences. I learned to be consistent and most importantly I’ve always been my authentic self.
BeautyQueen Hair LLC. provides luxury treatment for natural hair care and essential lifestyle products at an affordable price. We provide mobile haircare services and Manetanence. Our specialty is protective styles know as braids. We service all hair types and desire a place where everyday is a “Good Hair Day”!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
ATL has so many places to dine, drink and play when my best friend visits one of the first places we go in Midtown. I really love the vibes at Ponce city Market, this would be a fun Saturday hangout where we get active on the beltline and rent bikes to ride. Travel to Piedmont park for a few laps around one of Atlanta’s larger parks. The food court at city market has a variety a options for our different taste pallets. Maybe a little rooftop action with cocktails.
Republic during the late night and let it all hang out vibes.
Sunday Brunch on Main Street in College Park. A paint and sip event or a movie would put our evening on chill.
Everyday during the week sometype of fitness routine, hot yoga, a hike, visit a the waterfall in Roswell Mill, GA and just enjoy the beauty of the nature.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my family & friends, to the homegirls and homeboys in high school and college that trusted me to do their hair before I was a licensed stylist. Previous educators who helped cultivate such a passionate individual. Shout-out to my clients that tell their friends and family about my services. I love referrals!
