Meet Amanda Wallace | CEO of Lux Beauty Essentials

We had the good fortune of connecting with the CEO of Lux Beauty Essentials and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
When I would buy wigs for myself, I had a major issue with sizing and quality so I decided to do that for myself. I then had the idea to start a business so I could do this for others.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Lux Beauty Essentials was created with the intention to provide hair extensions, wigs and beauty products that are easily accessible, affordable, unique and of the best quality.

What sets us apart from others is that we can customise a wig to suit your requirements, we provide express delivery on our in-stock items and our customer service is unbeatable.

I am most of proud of how my brand has expanded and grown to now include over 100 products that all complement each other. Lux Beauty Essentials has now reached the level of being a one-stop-shop, where a client can fulfil majority of their hair and beauty needs.

I got to where I am today business-wise by listening to my clients (both good and bad feedback) and by staying focused on my own goals. In the beginning of my journey it was so easy for me to compare myself to other successful businesses and wonder why I was not growing as fast or hitting the same targets as them. I had to remind myself that they had to start somewhere too and they had to build their brand to get it to where it is now. Essentially, all our journeys have a different timescale so I had to remind myself the importance of focusing on my own journey and timeline.

Another important lesson I have learned along the way is to just start, even if I feel like I am not ready to do it or I don’t know how to do something. I find that when I just start and get moving, all the solutions eventually present themselves along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So for one we would have to visit one of my favourite restaurants – Burger and Lobster! I am a huge fan of lobster and so naturally my best friend would be too!

I would then suggest we visit a few different local jazz café’s, so we could unwind, catch up and support local musicians.

If we had the time, I would also recommend travelling to other cities in the UK so we could take in some more sites. Some of my personal favourite cities to visit are Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow.
