We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Nesbitt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to pursue a creative career as a skincare and lifestyle influencer during the pandemic. Working full-time as a therapist can be emotionally intense, so I wanted a way to make extra income while doing something lighter and personally enjoyable. Skincare has always been my go-to way to unwind after a long day, and becoming an influencer allows me to share this passion with others. Through this platform, I can engage in self-care while creating a community focused on wellness and relaxation.”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is rooted in storytelling and self-expression, blending my passions as a therapist, writer, and skincare/lifestyle influencer. What sets me apart is my ability to connect deeply with others—whether it’s through the healing journey I guide in my therapeutic work, the relatable narratives in my content, or the inspiration behind my creative projects. Every piece of content or product I create is meant to uplift, heal, or bring a moment of joy.

I’m most proud of the genuine connections I’ve built. When someone messages me to say my product recommendation transformed their skin or my words helped them feel less alone, it reminds me why I started this journey. I’m most proud of completing my skincare eBook, Skin Deep: A Journey to Healthy Beautiful Skin. It reflects my passion for skincare and my dedication to helping others feel confident in their own skin. This project allowed me to combine my expertise, personal experience, and creativity into a resource that empowers people to prioritize self-care and achieve their skincare goals.

Getting to where I am today professionally hasn’t been easy. Juggling a full-time career as a therapist with my creative pursuits means there’s rarely a moment of rest. There have been times of doubt—when brand deals fell through, audience growth slowed, or creative energy was hard to find. But I overcame these challenges by staying true to my values of compassion and perseverance. I learned to focus on the one life I might impact rather than chasing metrics or comparisons.

The greatest lessons I’ve learned are:
– Count failures as wins: Every setback is an opportunity to learn and grow.
– Stay authentic: Success is sweeter when it aligns with who you are.
– Prioritize impact over perfection: Helping one person is still a victory.

What I want the world to know about me and my story is that my brand is about showing up—imperfectly but authentically. Whether I’m reviewing a skincare product, crafting something by hand, or helping someone through their grief, my goal is to make a difference. It’s not about being the biggest or the best; it’s about leaving the world better than I found it, one connection at a time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta has so many amazing spots, so it’s tough to choose! If my besties came into town, we’d start the day with a spin class at Vibe Ride Grant Park to get energized. After freshening up, we’d head to Flying Biscuit for a delicious brunch. Then, we’d explore Ponce City Market, check out the stores, and stroll along the Beltline. For dinner, Negril would be the perfect choice—Caribbean food, great music, and vibrant drinks are always a vibe. To end the night, we’d head home for board games and wine, the perfect way to wind down and enjoy each other’s company.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am who I am because of God, my mother Laurie Nesbitt, and my father Anthony Nesbitt. God has always been present in my life, blessing me with the wonderful parents who have shaped the person I’ve become.

My mom taught me vital life skills early on, like the importance of improvising and giving back. These lessons guide me daily, enabling me to make things work even when resources are scarce and encouraging me to contribute to my community.

My father helped shape my character by instilling perseverance in me. He never allowed me to quit anything I started, no matter how challenging it became. “You can stop once it’s done, but never before,” he would say. That lesson has stayed with me, teaching me to push through when others might give up. Seeing things through to the end isn’t just a skill—it’s a mindset that sets me apart.

Without God and my parents, I wouldn’t be as grounded, hardworking, or innovative as I am today. I’m deeply grateful for their guidance, love, and the values they’ve instilled in me.
