We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started Divine Legacy Publishing because I saw the need for a different type of publishing company. I wanted to combine the freedom and control of self-publishing with the resources and community we often see provided by traditional publishing companies. My ultimate goal was to create a community of empowered authors who learn, collaborate, and support each other and to provide them with the ever-evolving tools and resources they need to succeed.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In addition to owning Divine Legacy Publishing, I’m also an author. I write both erotic romance novels and children’s books. I know, that’s a crazy combination. I write my romance novels under my pseudonym, Serendipity, and I write my children’s books with my daughter, Brooke, under my given name. My romance novels are 5-star rated on Amazon and are carried in bookstores. The books I write with my daughter encourage and empower young minds. I’m proud of how well-received my books have been across the board. It’s not easy balancing family life, homeschooling (we were homeschoolers before the pandemic), writing, my company, and still taking care of myself but it’s so worth it and I’ve found my groove. One of those lessons came after I developed stress-induced high blood pressure. I learned very quickly that self-care is important. You can’t pour from an empty cup. The most important thing I want people to take from my story is that you can overcome and heal. I had a tough childhood. It took work, but it’s the best feeling in the world to be free of those resentments and that pain. It is much better to operate from a place of self-created peace than to let things from the past that you can’t control drag you down and make you miserable.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people who have poured positivity and inspiration into me. My husband is my biggest cheerleader and my daughter tells me all the time that she thinks I’m awesome. My mom has always encouraged me to pursue my dreams and my grandmother instilled in me the belief that I can do anything I put my mind to. I also have a close-knit circle made up of people who started out as friends and sorority sisters who have become family. I’m incredibly blessed to have these people in my corner.
