We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Tootle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyssa, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel risk taking has played a major role in the growth in my small business. I am a firm believer that behind every success story, there were many risks taken. There are days where you have to just weigh the pros and cons of a situation/scenario, and go with the flow from there. “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” This quote leads true to not only entrepreneurship, but my life in general.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hey there! I’m Alyssa Rae Tootle, the face behind the camera! I’m a natural light photographer with a creative edge, and proud owner of A.R.T Photography. I was born and raised in Statesboro, Georgia, where I developed a passion for photography at a young age. Every shoot I do has a piece of my heart, soul and vision in them.

I feel that my love for meeting new people, adventures, and the desire to capture the raw, real moments of the beauty that surrounds us has actually unintentionally led me to where I am today. Every job I have ever had was very people oriented, which I naturally thrive on – waitressing, bartending, office jobs. Photography was always a hobby/passion to me, I never thought doing something that I loved so genuinely much, could become my actual career.

While no journey is never completely easy, I feel any obstacles and challenges that I have faced along the way, molded me into who I am today. The journey is the destination for me. I am driven on people pleasing and admire anything spontaneously done. I truly feel my greatest accomplishment in my career is all of the amazing people I have met and the memories I have made for them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shoutout to my amazing husband, mother, sister, sweet family, friends and clients! The unconditional love and support they all give to me is so immense. I have truly been blessed with such an amazing support system and am so thankful to have them not only as I embark this journey, but in life in general. They say it takes a village, and I am so thankful for mine.
