We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyssa, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Often times people stray away from taking risks out of fear. What I’ve used in my personal life is knowing that being afraid or anxious to take a risk is completely normal, however I had to teach myself to not allow that fear to be the barrier to my success. You will never know your fullest potential, if you don’t award yourself the opportunity to try new things. With everything new there is a risk of ‘failing’, but rather viewing it as a loss, we can change the perspective and view it as a lesson learned. It is always the come up from the downfall that matters; but we can never learn to swim if we don’t get in the water.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The dynamic of my company is very complex yet straight to the point at the same time. Self care has always been important to me. But self care in ALL aspects. Not only a face mask and a hot bath, but caring for yourself mentally is just as important, if not MORE than the outside. As I grew older, everything I did had to align with my mental health. I wanted to create a company that catered to everyones form of self care; whether its bath and body, or in holistic forms, while also advocating and educating the community on mental health and its severity.

Anything that we categorize as vital, is something that should be prioritized at the top of our list. And I am always about good vibes. Thus the birth and naming of Vital Vibes- meaning the energy we keep around us is critically important.

This company was created in 2018, but after dealing with a huge personal loss, it was pended, until 2020; the year the majority of us felt the most mentally unstable, or uneasy for a better choice of words. We’re back, better than ever and with more purpose. To spread light and love to everyone we can reach, and normalize it being ok to not always be OK!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
All of my friends know I am very much a home body that is into doing things that are lax. Im not as much into the club scenes as I used to be (although every once in a while I need a good late night dancing in my life lol). I recently just had a friend visit from Idaho, and one of the places we had her visit was Ricks on the River; it is one of my favorite places in Tampa. A very chill vibe right on the water, with live music and great drinks. We can even rent a boat on the bay and ride it to the deck. Another thing I would recommend for a night time scene is The Social, which consists of some awesome live music and drinks; and Smoken Word-that alone is an ENTIRE vibe. Open mics full of poets, singers, rappers and more.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost my family is the battery in my back. My husband and kids give me life though ups and downs; they are the reason I grind so hard. I’d also like to shoutout my best friend Amanda, who dedicated so much of her time helping me bring my vision to life! You don’t come across too many people who are pure and genuine in their intentions. I feel blessed to say I have that.
