We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Owen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alyssa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had spent so many years running other peoples businesses/studios that I wanted to do it on my own & in my own way. I saw the good, the bad and the ugly.
I had a vision for an inclusive studio with a community that brings people together.
I was on a mission to provide a high-end studio experience that combines upbeat music, chill vibes, and a new perspective of yoga to the mat. By doing so, I cultivated an exclusive community of individuals who feel empowered, confident, and stronger.
I want to share my love for yoga, make it fun, and super accessible to everyone.
I want to break it down in a digestible way and get everyday people to flow, move, sweat, and have a good time.
Ultimately, I’m redefining the way people view yoga and elevating the traditional experience.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Alyssa has been practicing yoga for 15 years and teaching for 7. She has E-RYT, YACEP, and group certifications with a vast experience in running several studios. She wanted to share her love of yoga and make people’s lives better. Yoga is such a well-balanced activity that allows you to calm your mind and strengthen your body. Most people don’t realize that they can also have fun doing it. As a young mom living in the area, she understands how hard it is to find balance and time. Seeking an escape to carve time for yourself and do something you love is crucial to living a more balanced lifestyle. She wanted to provide an avenue that reached anyone at any point in their life looking to experience something that livens their soul, boosts their confidence, and takes away the stress.
Aside for her love for yoga, her absolute favorite thing in the world is making playlists. With her two passions (yoga + music), she founded The Yoga Loft to not only reshape people’s minds about yoga, but create an exclusive high- end experience for everyone who takes the plunge to show up for themselves.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate everything I do to my amazing family. Most importantly my 2 daughters. I’m always wanting to be an example for them that women can do anything they set their mind to!
