Meet Aliza Li | R&B/Soul Singer- Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aliza Li and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aliza, why did you pursue a creative career?
I always knew I wanted to be involved with music some kind of way from an early age. Music has always been a part of my life and really helped me get through life in general. There is something so alluring about how music is timeless. Whenever I’m going through anything I am able to express myself better through singing and song writing. Music has always been my outlet and I wanted it to become more involved in my life. Pursuing a career in music just came naturally and during a time when I needed my outlet the most.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Aliza Li 2021 is so much different than Aliza Li 2015. Starting from a blank slate, I have had the pleasure of growing by trial and error. And trust me there has been a lot of errors but the journey has been humbling and liberating. I went into this career by thinking I could just make music and that’s all but being an artist is so much more than your music. You have to market you. Being such a private person, I struggled with putting myself out there more and I’m still growing everyday but with new experiences, comes confidence and assurance. I can’t tell you how many times I thought about giving up my passion but I always remember what drew me to this career in the first place, my love for music. That’s something that has kept me grounded. I love how candid I can be in my songs. Aliza Li is not an alternate personal, it’s me. My journey and my truth is what sets me apart from other artist because you can only live your life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First off I’m a foodie and I love trying new things, so we would have to stop by the Food Truck Park and Market. Also by my favorite cozy restaurant downtown, Blossom Tree! Entertainment wise, we would have to stop by the Apache Café. Not only is the entertainment always on point, the food is delicious.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanted to thank everyone who has pressed play on any of my songs, from the bottom of my heart thank you!
