Meet Alix Oliver | Showrunner, Producer, Writer, & Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alix Oliver and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alix, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be one of the biggest producers in the tv and film industry. I’d love to keep writing, producing, and directing original and new stories, that can be talked about for years to come. I want to be an inspiration for most and encourage others to keep growing. I want people to remember me as the big ball of happiness and creativity that spreads to others.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a young child, I developed an interest in pop culture, particularly in videos games, comic books and film. I loved to break down the psyche of characters to get a better feel of their purpose in the story. Although, I originally wanted to pursue a career as a veterinarian, I soon realized that my true passion was in film making.
In high school, I was struck by an SUV which caused severe neurological damage. Even though this accident had caused a major physical setback, I persevered to graduate Wheeler High School with honors. Promptly after graduating high school, I attended Kennesaw State University as well as the Georgia Film Academy. During my studies, I met several passionate film students with whom I developed friendships and, later, business relationships.
In 2020, I founded “Midnight Coffee Productions,” a production company which I run with the peers I met at the Georgia Film Academy. Currently, I am in physical therapy to regain the ability to walk and working on scripts of Dead Serious (an original series that I’m preparing to shop around) with my current writers room. (That includes Bernard Ansa, Will Frontera, Chi’Ke “Aye Kee” Sims, and Morgan-Tierra Ukaonu)
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I’d take them to Regal Atlantic Station to experience a movie format that they have never experienced, then to Cafe Intermezzo, and end the day having a cookout/game night that has spades as the main game.
The most fun things to me are spending time with people and watching new stories.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to God, firstly, my mom, sisters, the members of Midnight Coffee Productions, Darrick Patterson, Quintessence Patterson, Crew Love TV, the cast and crew of Dead Serious (Upcoming & Future TV Series), Edna & Anthony Martinez, Geek Boy Troy (Big Brother from another mother), LaLa Anthony (Big Sister from another mother), my family, & friends. (like Doni, Tee, Jocelyn, Elyse, Josh, Brent, Emily, Al, Najaah, Sanaa, Layth and trust me, many more)
There’s a lot of people to name and I think about daily that also I want to add, but it’s so many!
