We had the good fortune of connecting with Alisha Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alisha, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
The principle that matters to me the most is in order to find yourself you must find God. Once you build a relationship with God you will align yourself with your true purpose. What I noticed is when I started focusing more on God and myself things just started flowing towards me. I’m in the stage of my life that I’ve experienced free will to much and I’ve released control. Now I let God direct my path.

I value  growth and healing from past trauma experienced growing up and realizing how it has effected me as an adult.

There comes a time when we must look at ourselves and become responsible for own mistakes. This will bring you forward to becoming your best self. You just have to be ok with being real with yourself. Lol

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart from the others is my eye for detail. I have a very vivid imagination so I love to create and create balloon garlands, flower walls or centerpieces by hand instead of purchasing them. My skills are wide range but I decided on event decorating because well…its ATL. There is always something going on here. I had an airbnb and I noticed most bookings was always for a specials occasion birthday, anniversary etc . So that was my first platform I would advertise that I can turn one of the rooms in the airbnb to a photo room and create a backdrop from there. I decorated my first Halloween party at the airbnb and my friends were really impressed. I was so determined to find out if decorating is my purpose that I worked two full time jobs at the same time for 6 months. Why?! Because I figured if decorating something I love to do then I should try decorating my own birthday event. That way if it wasn’t my thing it was my own birthday disaster. lol I booked this fancy venue and went all out on the decor. I have to say working two full time work from home jobs, managing airbnb business and trying to plan this grand birthday party wasn’t good on my mental. I was over worked and sleep deprived. However, my family and friends were  so shocked out how beautiful the décor turned out without me having a team. It was only 4 of us and a few hours to decorate. My vision was definitely bigger than the help I had and the time I had allotted. Many of my decorations were handmade by me. This year my business really grew because my custom made flower panels. I have a recurring customer in VA that ask me to make holiday inspired vines for her creamery. I have fall inspired flower panels at the visitor center in Newports News LOVE NN sign. My business allows my creativity to just grow and I love the customers who come to me with the random request outside of just flower panels. Its a challenge that I’m just always ready for. I do have a vision to open my own store with creative backdrops for others to come and take pictures in front of.

Keep an out for me. I’m just getting started I see so much growth in 2022 alone.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok well let me just jump into this one.

First we are starting the day off at the gym. No days off even if a friend is in town. Lol

I’m a lover of nature so I’m going to take them either to Stone Mountain for a quick out door experience. I really enjoy nature and of course we are going to strike a few poses when we make it to the top.

One of my favorite places is Divan Restaurant. It is such a cute place and if you haven’t been you must try the salmon pasta.

I’m a brunch girl and so are my friends we really enjoy getting dressed up to eat and vibe. A few of my favorite places are BQE, The Garden Room, and Kaleidoscope.

Lastly we are going to a crystal shop because I’m one of those people who believe in aligning your charkas and good energy. One of my favorite places to shop for my crystal needs is Create to Be Great a Manifestation store located in Sugarloaf Mills Mall.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can only shout out God and an old friend who purchased my LLC as Christmas gift December 2019. This year I discovered my purpose but at the same time so much of my life changed. I begin to out grow my friends. God lead me to self discovery. I really mean it when I say God literally called my name. He was letting me know I had some work to do within before he can place me on my next journey. I didn’t always know my purpose in life and I thank God for placing a friend in my life that would help me discover my way.
