We had the good fortune of connecting with Alisha Bright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alisha, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Live Nurse Strong LLC and Nurse Strong podcast serves the purpose of presenting nurses as the smart, decision making, educated bomb people that they are. We want to change the narrative as well as the nursing culture. After getting through a pandemic this past year it’s especially time for nurses to STAND UP for themselves by demanding respect and protection. More confident, competent, strong nurses can make such a positive impact on the healthcare system and patient care.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel most proud when people all over the world are able to relate to us and our point of view. I am happy when I see someone and they mention how happy they are that we are talking about real subjects like money, nurse abuse and relationships. The most challenging thing I think for Nikki and me was getting used to our own voice. Neither one of us liked the camera, posting or hearing ourselves speak , but we had something to say! I would say we overcame it by intentionally working on falling in love with ourselves more. We hold each other accountable and we support each other. We want people to know that our brand is about exploring every part of you and not succumbing to the box they try to place nurses.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a hard one because I don’t get out much. I’m working on that though. I’ve recently visited pounce city market and I loved the whole vibe. Vegan bar was nice and I would definitely go back there. I also like the summer activities at Atlantic station. Screen on the green and the live music on Fridays. I also like how most of the restaurants and bars have the open patio facing the green.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can not talk about nurse strong without talking about my business partner Nikki Harris. She has always been supportive even during the time I was doing the podcast by myself. After we decided to become partners I must credit her skills and brilliant mind for live nurse strong advancing to the next level.
