We had the good fortune of connecting with Alijah Francois and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alijah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Being an entrepreneur is about taking risks. In order for you to succeed in life and this business you have to constantly take risks. Sometimes an area can be very gray and as a Women who has a lot of faith in God, I know what I have to do in those grey “seasons”. Prayer is very important to me. Although I am working on being more consistent, no matter what, I know who has helped me before. God comes through in every way every single time. He confirms wether I should stand still or wether It’s my time to move. He speaks to me in different ways. My job is to stay consecrated and be in a space where I will be able to hear from him to determine what my next move is. I never want to do anything that is not apart of the plan he has for me. We’re all on a path. Wether you believe in God or not. You’re destined for something, and you have purpose. Taking risks is apart of your learning process and apart of your growth and elevation in life. Sometimes we have to think How can this risk benefit you and your purpose? How can it be detrimental?
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart is my full services. No need to come washed blown out or any of that. I prefer to take care of my clients fully. Before I start I examine the scalp checking for any abrasions, dermatitis, any issues that I will be able to help resolve.
When I think about how I’ve got here, all I can say is God. Noo it has NOT been easy at all. I’m so young but I’ve been through soooo much. Many of my trials were supposed to take me alllll the way out, if you know what I mean lol. But by the Grace, strength, wisdom and discernment of and from
God I’m still here. Still growing, still making moves, and still elevating. Everything absolutely does not go my way. But I’ve learned since a young age and this is very cliche but 100% facts “Lord it’s not my will, but yours”. No matter how confused and messy the situation may look, I still trust you. I’ll Always trust you. Don’t get me wrong, I’m an anxious person so I will worry. But I’ve been working on not letting my worry be bigger than my faith. As my relationship with God strengthens, I’m able to determine what to do in certain circumstances. My brand is deeper than me. Nothing I have is physically “mine”. I get assignments from God and my job is to be obedient and complete them. My story is for someone who is going Through something similar who may not know what to do. I’m a testimony and a witness to God’s favor over my life THUS FAR! If he can do it for your neighbor he can do it for you too! Everything you go through is not meant to destroy you. Everything we go through is building you up and preparing you for your promise and your purpose.
I feel like we haven’t even started anything Yet lol. Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed but then I’m like Alijah! If this is overwhelming how will you be able to Handle what is really meant for you? What the real assignment is? So then I get into my Thank you God moments because the blessings I have now I prayed for. So I have to have gratitude for how much he has carried me through despite what my current situation may look like. The higher up you go the harder it gets. Don’t be discouraged. One thing about God is he keeps his promises. “Psalms 145:13; Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion ensures through all generations, the Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in an he does.” Scripture doesn’t Lie!
I want everyone to Stay committed, you owe it to yourself, your business, your family.
Aside from that network! Step out of your comfort zone. Talk about what you do. Don’t be shy to mention your gifts and talents. I’m a believer that God blessed us with gifts for us to share with the world. So share it and watch him multiply and put you in the right rooms! Stay confident. Don’t compare yourself! People say that all the time and it’s true! We are all on our own paths be patient with yourself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would say go hiking lol. Do something fun! There are clubs everywhere no matter where you go that’s not hard to find. But enjoying adventurous activities where you can experience nature and the creation of the world is like feeding your soul. Spice house has greattttt food!!!! Depending on which one you go to you can also have some lit times. And Escovitchez!! Rock steady is nice if you want a vibe they have a party section upstairs that gets pretty active depending on when you go.
Puttshack is nice for hanging out or Even Rreal tacos has great food! Lol I’m foodie I love trying out new restaurants.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom and my sister. Whenever I doubted myself aside from me turning to God I often confided in them. My mom would always speak life into me and remind me of how much I’ve accomplished and how far I can go with my goals. My sister would remind me of how any and everything I put my mind to and have said I was going to do has been accomplished. Sometimes I feel like I’m not doing enough and I’m slacking and not where I need to be. It can be a blessing and a curse. But having them to remind me of who I am, the gift I have, and how capable I am of achieving any and everything has been a contribution to my success. I’m very aware of my mistakes and it’s often that I use that as a drive to learn, step up and elevate.
