We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Pacheco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Growing up I was surrounded by workaholics, so working hard has been instilled in me ever since I can remember. When I started working at 14 I had a summer job and I was doing hair for my friends and family on the side. After that, for the rest of my teenage years I worked 2 jobs. I usually always had a side hustle and a 9-5 which unfortunately left very little time for fun. After some taking some advice from loved ones I realized I had to learn how to say no and block out time for my needs. Don’t get me wrong sometimes I still feel guilty for going out when I could be at home making money however when I do feel that way, I simply just tell myself that’s is okay to take a break sometimes.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I got to where I am today with hard work, dedication, consistency, and discipline. Trust me it is easier said then done. However, when you’re dead set on achieving something you’re not going to let anything get in your way. I personally struggled with being disciplined enough to stay consistent. A lot of people forget those two go hand in hand. I really had to sit down with myself and let myself know that everything I wanted in life wasn’t handed to me so I had to get up and chase it. That was enough! Some lessons I’ve learned along the way are people you don’t know will support you more than the people that do! Don’t take it to heart. That just shows you who really supports you! Another lesson would be stay consistent even when you’re not reaping any benefits. If you post a reel and it only gets 2 likes so what!! And lastly, one of the most important lessons that I’ve learned as an entrepreneur is keep God first sometimes we don’t know how to move in a situation but he will always tell us the right way to go! Something everyone should know about me is I’m coming from my spot this year so if you don’t know me now by the end of the year you will.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend is coming to town, I would immediately take her to Rocksteady in Atlanta, Georgia. The food there is so good! I love Caribbean music because I am Jamaican and Puerto Rican so that’s just a overall good time for me. After that we’d probably go to Piedmont to lose some of the calories that we just gained.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out God first and foremost. Without him I am nothing! I would like to thank my Grandpa Mike. I’m not sure if he knows how genuinely influential he is in my life. He is the reason I strive for success today. He continuously shows me unconditional love. He is hardworking, caring, loving, loyal, smart, and those are just a few reasons I look up to him. He always made sure I was okay whether it be mentally, financially, emotionally, or physically he was there. So Papa if you’re reading this thank you for making me a Pacheco. I’m completely honored to have your last name. I love you and Grandma so much. I can’t wait to give you guys the world.
