We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to have more control over my time and, of course, make more money. Entrepreneurship has been a constant presence in my life; both my parents were business owners—my mother a hairstylist and my father a barber. I understand that the road ahead won’t be easy, but it will definitely be rewarding when the money starts rolling, okay! Real estate has always held a special place in my heart, and I’ve developed a passion for it through watching real estate shows. Yes, it’s a bit cringeworthy, but I, Alexis Mason, am obsessed with “Million Dollar Listings LA,” “Selling Beverly Hills,” “Selling Sunset,” “Selling Tampa,” and “Selling the OC”! I know, I know, millions of other people probably caught the same real estate bug from watching those shows. The shows are not realistic, and every day is a hustle towards your next check. Overall, my goal is to succeed, become an expert in my market, and be the best realtor to my buyers and sellers in North Atlanta at Keller Williams.

What should our readers know about your business?
My name is Alexis Mason, and I am a realtor in North Atlanta at Keller Williams North Atlanta. What sets me apart from others is that I work with integrity, honesty, and a personal code of ethics. In real estate, some agents do not work that way and will do whatever for a check. In order for longevity in real estate, you have to have a good relationship with your peers. I am very proud of passing my test so quickly and taking the time to study. I am currently, in the early stages of my business. It has not been easy, it’s a lot of work. I constantly take classes, host open homes, shadow agents, and spend money to get leads. It takes money to get money! You have to be consistent and have a schedule. A lesson that I have learned is value. You have to be an expert of explaining your value to your clients. If not, your business will die. I have personally lived in North Atlanta for over 5 years specifically, Alpharetta, Milton, Roswell area. I am familiar with the communities and the culture of these cities. I would love to be a guide and help any individual or family to relocate to these areas. I haven’t always lived in Georgia, I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri, so I know how it feels to move to an unfamiliar place.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
8 am- go to Upbeat in West Midtown for a smoothie, specifically the EIA x Upbeat “Skin Glow” smoothie.
the smoothie has strawberries, coconut water, avocado, collagen, whey protein, and dates. Its giving Hailey Bieber Erewhon smoothie but cheaper?!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to thank Jesus for always being faithful and constant in my life. Even when I wanted nothing to do with him whether it be anger or past trauma, I still felt his presence, mercy and love pour over my life.
