Meet Alexion | DJ and EDM Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexion and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexion, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
From my experience of being a DJ and producer over the past 5 years, the number one thing that motivates me to keep going are the fans and my passion for music. Music is a universal language, and I see the bond it creates whenever I’m onstage or in the crowd…especially with EDM. Seeing people react to something you made is the best feeling ever.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most excited about what’s to come in the next year or so. Over these past 6 months, I’ve felt like I’ve grown more than I have over these past 3 years. Networking is key, and that was what got me to where I am today. It landed me some pretty sick collaborations as well as some shows at Believe Music Hall. Right now, my biggest challenge is perfecting my sound. Under my old alias of DJ Waffles, I made a lot of emotional progressive house. Now under Alexion, I’m trying to do a fusion of techno and deep progressive house. It’s hard, but I’m learning. Now that I’m going off to college in Nashville to study music business, I’ll be excited to see what opportunities are in store for me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you’re coming down to Atlanta, you definitely need to visit Believe Music Hall or District Atlanta. Both are amazing clubs with amazing communities inside them. Ponce City Market is also a cool place filled with some amazing restaurants. There’s something for everyone here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank every single Atlanta based DJ that I’ve worked with over this past year. Alexion was a rebrand launched on January 1st, 2022 where I shifted more of my focus to the local scene rather than the international scene. Without this group of people, I wouldn’t have been able to make a name for myself in Atlanta. I learned so much from them, and they were the ones who got me into playing shows at some of the biggest nightclubs here. I was also able to find a community that I could fit into and grow with.
