We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexiana Story and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexiana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Thought process? I wouldn’t necessarily say I had a thought process when it came to starting my business. After our close friend, Jalin passed away our senior year of high school, me and Vonte made a pact to get rich in honor of Jalin. It sounds crazy but if you knew Jalin, you’d understand. However, I didn’t imagine me managing Vonte would turn to me having my own management company.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created StoryLand Management in 2017 and I’ve been adding value since. We currently have 8 artists and 2 producers on the roster. Getting where I’m at today was not easy because everything that I was doing was my first time and I had no insight or direction. Not having any fear or doubt about the mission helped me overcome the challenges I faced. The most important lesson I learned was to keep emotions and business separate. I guess I just want the world to know we’re bringing more sound and talent to the industries.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m from Columbia, SC so I’d probably take them to Old Chicago, Miyabis or Kiki’s Chicken & Waffles. Social Bar and Lounge is my favorite spot to drink at when I’m in the city. Frankie’s, Riverbank’s Zoo or downtown is a few places to check out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I’d have to thank God for keeping me and my family blessed. S/O to my family, especially my siblings who helped me get through the good and bad times. Baby Nue shaped my career in a major a way as he was my first business partner. We co-founded CGB Records in 2020. Many of y’all know who KBE Vonte is. I started managing KBE Vonte in 2017 which made him the first client ever of StoryLand Management. So yeah, big S/O to Vonte, I wouldn’t be here without him.
