We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Franzese and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Sure thing! Here’s a more personable response to your questions:

Well, let me tell you a bit about my art! I’m primarily a coloring book illustrator and freelance artist. You know, there aren’t too many coloring book illustrators out there, so that’s already something that sets me apart. But what really makes my books special is the way I design them. I put a lot of thought into making them easy to color for both kids and adults, and I’ve developed a unique illustration style that you won’t find in other coloring books.

As for how I got to where I am today, it’s been quite a journey. I’ve learned a lot through trial and error, from working on big corporate projects to tackling individual freelance gigs. There was a point where I was a coloring book illustrator for a company, but unfortunately, their account got terminated, leaving me without a job. It was tough, but it was also the moment I discovered my passion for creating coloring books. I was determined to make it on my own, so I started with just one book. And now, here I am, with 40 books under my belt and the title of bestselling coloring book illustrator on Amazon.

But let me tell you, it hasn’t been easy. With AI flooding the market with fake artwork, the coloring book game has become oversaturated. I’m constantly battling competition to get my books seen on platforms like Amazon and to stand out among the sea of options out there.

Through it all, I’ve learned some valuable lessons about resilience, creativity, and staying true to myself. And what I want the world to know about me and my brand is that every book I create comes straight from the heart. I pour my passion and dedication into each illustration, and I hope that shines through to anyone who picks up one of my books. Because at the end of the day, my goal is simple: to bring joy, relaxation, and a little bit of color into people’s lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh, if my best friend was visiting ATL, I’d make sure they have the time of their life! First stop? Ponce City Market, hands down. It’s like the heart and soul of Atlanta for me. We’d spend the whole day there, exploring the quirky shops inside Ponce and taking a leisurely stroll along the Beltline. Picture this: warm, breezy weather, people buzzing around, and happy pups trotting alongside. It’s pure magic!

For food, we’d hit up some of my favorite spots nearby. Maybe start with brunch at a cozy little cafe, grab some gourmet tacos for lunch, and then treat ourselves to artisanal ice cream for dessert. And of course, no trip to ATL is complete without trying some local brews at a nearby brewery or grabbing cocktails at a rooftop bar with stunning city views.

During the week, we’d mix it up with visits to iconic ATL landmarks like the Georgia Aquarium or the High Museum of Art. But we’d also leave plenty of time for spontaneous adventures, like stumbling upon live music in a cozy neighborhood bar or discovering hidden street art gems.

Overall, it’s all about soaking up the vibrant energy of ATL, experiencing the diverse culture, and creating memories that’ll last a lifetime. And trust me, with Ponce City Market as our home base, we’re in for one unforgettable trip!

I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my husband. He has always been there supporting the things that I love.
