We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Ritz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, why did you pursue a creative career?
Balancing a career in accounting with a passion for music, I found DJing and producing to be the perfect creative outlet. My structured and precise day job is a stark contrast to the freedom and expression that music brings. It’s an essential part of my life. Sharing my work and seeing people connect with it is incredibly rewarding, making me even more committed to this artistic path.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My creativity and unique sound set me apart as a DJ and producer, reflecting my passion and individuality. Getting to where I am hasn’t been easy, but the support of friends and family, along with unwavering consistency, has kept me going. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that discipline and persistence, even without immediate recognition, are key to growth and success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friends were visiting for a week, I’d make sure they got the full experience of the city’s best food, music, and vibes. We’d start with dinner at Naan Thai, where the flavors are always on point, then spend an afternoon at Bobby Jones, soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying the scenery. For the perfect night out, we’d head to Palo Santo for cocktails and music—it has the best vibe in the city and never disappoints.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my friend Jake, who played a major role in getting me into DJing and music production. His influence and guidance have shaped my approach to music, inspiring me to push my creative boundaries and refine my sound. His support has been invaluable, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without his encouragement and insight.
