We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Hodges and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Honestly, the biggest factor in my success has been just being myself. There are tons of influencers out there with different styles and niches—food just happens to be mine. I’ve always stayed true to what I like, and I’m okay with not always hitting the trendiest spots. I care about good food, good vibes, and solid customer service. I think people connect with my content because I’m real about my experiences, and that honesty has really helped my brand grow.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A lot of people may not know this, but I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor—so on top of a full-time career, I also create food content. I’m most proud of simply getting started and not giving up. I’ve always loved sharing my experiences with others, and food became a natural way to do that. I used to post about the places I ate at, the food, the drinks—just for fun. Eventually, people started asking me why I didn’t have my own page. To be honest, I was scared. I didn’t know where it would lead or how to start, but I finally took the leap—and I never imagined I’d get to where I am now.

It might not seem huge to some, but to me, it means everything. This journey has allowed me to connect with so many amazing creators and build real relationships. That’s the beautiful thing about food—it brings people together. It creates space for community, conversation, and connection.

It hasn’t always been easy. There are moments when I question if I should keep going. But then I remind myself that my content is mine. It’s unique. I know what I bring to the table, and I’m proud of it. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is not to compare myself to others. I just want people to know that I’ll always show up as myself—honest, real, and genuine.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m pretty low-key—and so are my friends—so it doesn’t take much for us to have a great time. We love being outside, especially when the weather’s nice, so patios and rooftops are definitely our vibe. One of my favorite spots is The Works. It has a great mix of outdoor areas, food options, and drinks—it’s the kind of place where everyone can find something they love. I’m also a fan of the Westside Provisions District and the Interlock area. You’d probably catch us over there, grabbing Jeni’s Ice Cream or trying out a new spot.

Another favorite is The Battery. It’s perfect for people-watching, grabbing a casual bite, and just soaking in the energy. The great thing about Atlanta is there’s always something happening, but you don’t have to do a lot to have a good time. For me, it’s all about good food, good vibes, and good company.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate a shoutout to my family—they mean everything to me. Especially my sister, Jordan. She’s truly my ride or die, and I’m incredibly grateful for her constant support in everything I do. She’s been instrumental in my journey as a creator, and I’d be remiss not to thank her for all the ways she’s helped me—and continues to help me—every step of the way.
