We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Harvey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
To bring live music back to the city of Atlanta. To give musicians and singers opportunities to show their God-given talent to the world. I want to touch the lives of people through music because music heals the soul.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I saw the opportunity to bring back live bands of different genres after the pandemic. My hunger, my passion and love for music along with my personality sets me apart from others. I build relationships with the venue owners and I’m thankful that they give me the opportunity to lock down weeks after weeks at a time to provide live entertainment at their establishments.

I am most proud of the impact that I have made on the industry with live music. I appreciate the love and support that I receive from different people because they see my efforts, they see my drive.

My wife and I had an idea, because we are event creators, to host a sip & paint with a live band at our home. It was a huge success and everyone enjoyed themselves. Sylvester came to me and asked if I would manage the band he’d created “We The Party Band.” This jump started the entrepreneurial spirit in me. Was it easy or has it been easy? No, not at all. In this industry, you have to deal with so many different personalities from the singers, musicians, managers and the owners of the venues.

I am a person that keeps my cool no matter the situation. I know how to diffuse situations and I find a way to make things happen. I have learned that building a relationship is very important, the money will come.

I am a born and raised “true” ATLien, Westside to be exact, Zone 1. I am a self taught drummer, booking agent and band manager. I am also a cover tune rapper. I look for opportunities and I go for it. I’m creating my own lane with live bands and I love what I do.

People will not always be supportive of your dreams because they don’t see your vision. But, you can not let that stop you from pressing on. Be humble, be kind and keep it professional, you never know who’s watching nor who you’re going to meet.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely start with Teranga City in the heart of Buckhead. The vibe is impeccable and the food is outstanding. Rock Steady is a lovely place to go for some great drinks and great vibes. DBA for some great BBQ and enjoy playing music bingo. Go tubing down the Chattahoochee River in Helen or Duluth. Attend some festivals and definitely visit the New Black Wallstreet in Stonecrest.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Just to name a few, Sylvester Ogletree a close friend, which is the drummer in the Bndo Band for the 85 South Show. We are business partners for We The Party Band, my very 1st band to manage, He helped me get started in this business. Vic Bowie of The Vic Bowie Sound, the 2nd band I began managing. He has been a great supporter of Black Mogul ENT. Meco Thomas, he has been my brother and my mentor through out my journey with Black Mogul ENT. Last but not least, my headache, my love, the woman that keeps me going. If it wasn’t for her, none of this would be possible. She has endured late nights, early mornings and she’s always there to support in any way possible. I thank her for allowing me to live in my purpose, that’s none other than my beautiful wife Courtney Harvey.
