We had the good fortune of connecting with Alena Redwine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alena, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Uniquely mine is something I created for me as an outlet to share my experiences and struggles with anxiety and with learning to love and accept myself. I wanted to share with others how I overcame a lot of my struggles and let them know there are ways to cope. I’ve always loved entrepreneurship and wanted to combine my love with that along with self care. I knew that to get my mission out there I needed to show up in a way that people would be able to see that Self Love is the best Love. my passion for that let to me wanting to design shirts without the hassle of investing in lots of inventory. I started doing research on businesses and low cost ways to start a business. This is how i discovered print on demand as a business model. I have had to learn all aspects of business doing this and even when sales aren’t where I want them to be I still continue to inspire others to grow in self love. My purpose is bigger than just selling, for me the mission is to normalize being able to take time out for yourself. For Uniquely mines we stand on “Self Care being our Mission” .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My achievements aren’t necessarily what I have done but who I have inspired. I love to watch people discover themselves daily and be inspired to make boss moves in their life. I love when people come to me and say that something I said sparked a thought or idea and they are much happier. A lot of times we just need a little encouragement to get to the next level. My hope is that everyone learns about selfcare and how important it is to our mental health. The past two years I have learned that Mental Health and a balance life has to be number one. I have grown so much mentally that I don’t even recognize myself from last year. Coming from just surviving to thriving and living each day authentically. Everyone wants to know how I can be so happy and I tell them the secret is to start living for you and not what others want for you. Get rid of the negative people and start surrounding yourself with those who inspire you and will help you to that next level life that you desire. I want people to see my brand and recognize that self care is a good thing and inspire them to help themselves and be supportive to others that are struggling on their journey. I want people to get the resources they need to be better and stronger than ever.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For me I am all about nature. I love waterfalls and peaceful places where you can relax without all the business. We would definitely take a trip to North Georgia Waterfalls and make a day out of being out in nature. We would do some nature trails to the fails then a great dinner . my favorite water falls is Tallulah Falls . You can hike around the whole waterfall and take in some amazing views. A picnic for hiking would be great. also I love gardens so a trip to the Atlanta botanical gardens would be ideal as well. And since we love shopping we would check out some nearby outlet malls like North Georgia premium outlets.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
most definitely my business tribe of friends are who I give credit too. We started this journey in 2009 with growing online businesses and we still continue to support each other in many ways. Entrepreneurship is a journey that can not be done alone. We have learned that you can not do it all on your own. When there is a community around to support you. you can not fail because they are there to help you along the way.
