We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleah Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aleah, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is the gift of Perseverance. To wake up everyday and put in the work required, to pave a new direction for me and my family, to continue opening doors no matter my circumstances is success to me. I thank god for instilling in me the ability to persevere and remember the bigger picture— as beautiful as it looks I know that it will be just as fulfilling. With rewards comes many risks but the legacy I am building for my children is not in vain. It is a lonely journey to achieve success, but I am grateful for where I am today because I didn’t give up. One quote that will stick with me forever is: “Success is not determined by speed but direction” . I am a firm believer that God blesses those who stay the course. I also believe that he doesn’t give us anything we cannot handle. I knew this wouldn’t come easy but, that’s why I am willing to keep showing up! It is my destiny to be the change I wish I had. Perseverance allows me to speak greatness into my plans! I wouldn’t be anything without every trial or tribulation! It has made me into the exact woman, mentor, and leader I ever wanted to be. Success for me is inevitable.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So, I have 3 businesses that I love for different reasons. The Scalp Effect is my first — created to serve women offering high quality raw indian extensions, hair care products, and wigs. Our mission is simple, we believe in uplifting and empowering women. By looking good and feeling great, you’ll have confidence in everything you do. Great hair and products are the perfect accessory that accompany you on your journey through life. We intend to help hundreds of thousands of women become strong, feel beautiful, and gain confidence 1 by 1. Boss Women Matter is my second— created to provide rising women in entrepreneurship with the proper tools and resources to build strong business foundations through entrepreneurial focused instruction and financial education. Our mission is to prepare micro-entrepreneurs for launching, sustaining, and growing a business. Lastly, GFX Girl Studios is my third– created to be a resource for entrepreneurs needing websites, logos, flyers, and more. Our mission is to ultimately help our community build brands that are presentable through creativity and expertise. You can follow us on instagram at @thescalpeffect, @
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting and I wanted to show them the best time ever. The first place we’d go is the inner city, for fill-ins on our nails. Then we’d go get some good eats at a nice upscale restaurant. Then on the second day, I’d have a spa day booked for us to get facials, have mimosas, get massages and enjoy our relaxation. Then on the third day because I am such a humanitarian, we would give back to the community by volunteering at a women’s shelter. On the fourth day, we would have breakfast and coffee, do some goal setting and planning because what’s a friend if you don’t motivate each other? That night we would hopefully attend a comedy show that would do what needs to be done! On the 5th day, we would probably treat ourselves to some shopping and then call it a trip!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my friend Bria Foster. Bria deserves to be recognized for her persistence and perseverance. She recently lost her brother and has taken on the responsibility of running the family business. She has stepped up so beautifully and I am so proud of the woman she’s becoming and cannot wait to see what God has in store for her! Instagram: @
