We had the good fortune of connecting with Alan Upshur and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Consistency. You have to know that success doesn’t come over night and YOU WILL experience failure along the way. You have to ride the highs and lows when they come. Along the journey you will meet great people who will help grow your vision AND provide speed bumps along the way. Continue through it because you’ll learn, grow and gain exposure along the way if you stay committed to positive outcomes.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am heavy in the real estate industry. With having multiple real estate license I have branded myself to be a hub for clients as well as realtors. I make a living off my wealth of knowledge by connecting individuals to the right real estate source they need to obtain their goal. Whether you need a mortgage, house sold, or the right real estate agent in another city. I’m the guy for you. I want to be the “google” for those needing help anything the real estate field. I see houses without “seeing” them is my phrase. With close to 400 real estate transactions I been in. It’s safe to say I seen a thing or two lol. It hasn’t been easy I lost deals, gave up commissions and made bad real estate investment along the way. You can’t have success without failure. Through it all I have developed a blueprint to help those in the industry become successful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Man where do I start lol. I finally have had time to experience some breakfast spots so at first I’m going to say Toast at Lennox! That’s a great meal to start your day. You also want to experience Breakfast at Barney’s as well. You have Alon’s which is good to cover your sweet tooth and try tasty pastries. Sports fans would love to catch an Atlanta Braves game they are always excited to watch. Botanical Gardens In Atlanta is a peaceful vibe you’ll love the scenery. The trap museum is a must to add if you still have the time which is enriched in Hip-Hop culture and memorabilia. There are so many great views and shopping opportunities at Lennox and Phipps Plaza as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give honor to God first. Without him we all would be nothing. I wouldn’t exist and I know humbly I wouldn’t have made it through what I been through. Second my parents Alan & Desiree. They have always been there for me. Even when I wasn’t there for myself. My sister De’Erra who I also admire and never want to disappoint again. Family is everything to me.
