We had the good fortune of connecting with Alaina Douglas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alaina, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Everything happens for a reason and trust in divine timing. The first quote has been a favorite since I was a child and I’ve always carried it with me along my path. I trust that all that happens is for the greater good and in divine timing. You’re never really late but right on time.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I truly believe we are all moving art. Whether it be through dance, writing or acting I’ve always aspired to be my authentic self, in hopes that others would be comfortable walking in their light. It’s been challenging and I’m still en route to where I’m going but taking the opportunities that resonated with my true self and trusting my intuition helped me get to this place now. I’ve learned that you really have to be fearless and do it anyway because it really doesn’t matter what others think. I am a work in progress, there’s so many sides of me that I’ve yet to share. I always knew myself and loved being my authentic self but in certain situations I was introduced to apart of myself I didn’t know or never met before. After I realized I was becoming who I desired to be . I genuinely want the best for every single soul I encounter and know that we all are truly connected with purpose.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the mountains so definitely a hike at Stone Mountain or anything with nature. I think it’s important that we connect with Mother Nature and see the different reflections that are all around. As far as night life definitely a chill lounge or somewhere that plays a mix of old school and new. I’m always down for dancing, good vibes and good food. New to the area so I’ve still been exploring all the city has to offer.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s so many people that have gave encouraging words and wisdom along the way. I would say my teachers have always seen me beyond what I appeared to be. They always saw a light in me, a spark that is now being reignited. Encouraging me to pursue my dreams as either and actress or writer. There are three teachers that I can vividly remember telling me who I was destined to be. I can take myself back to the exact spots they poured into me and I’m eternally grateful.
