We had the good fortune of connecting with Agustín Bausilio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Agustín, how do you think about risk?
I think risk is always there when it comes to pursuing big goals. The producer community here in Argentina isn’t as big as it is in the US and other places, it’s been growing the past few years but is not that common to find people working with big artists from other countries or even making a living off their services. When I found out about people (outside my country) were making a living off music and running their own businesses, selling beats, sounds, presets, making songs, etc. it was literally a distant dream, but I went all in to achieve it myself as well even if I didn’t know anyone personally who had achieved it before.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I try to make different styles of music, even if it’s the same music genre, I always try not to use the same sounds, the same chord progressions, or the same vibes. Being versatile and experimenting is important to keep growing, in my opinion. Sometimes it’s hard to come up with new things everyday, but that’s what I aim for. It wasn’t easy at all to get to this point, but at the same time I think I’m barely starting. I just started learning on my own from scratch only a couple years ago and what I can say is that it takes a lot of time, discipline, practice, studying, many hours of watching tutorials, reading all kinds of articles, among other things. There’s always obstacles to overcome, days where you want to give up, but the key is to keep going and get through those days.

I’ve learned a couple of things this past years but I’d like to highlight that you gotta pay attention to yourself and your personal life as well, and taking good care of your mind is as important as your career. You gotta be okay first to be able to do what you love, especially if your career is based on being creative.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Buenos Aires it’s a city that never sleeps, there’s a lot of things to do but going to all different “pizzerías” in Corrientes Avenue to try all kinds of pizza would definitely be one of those things. I personally really like ” Pizzería Güerrín”. After that there’s a lot of nice bars in Palermo neighbourhood to have dinner with some drinks, and finally we’ll go to a night club from like 2:30 a.m. until 6:00 or 7:00 probably, cause yeah, that’s how late we like to party in here, so it’ll be a long day, haha.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout my parents and my family for supporting me and believing in me even if they didn’t understand anything about this career or business. Also to all my producer friends who helped me grow and gave me the opportunity to work with them and make great things together, and also those who encouraged me and helped me through the most difficult times, they all know who they are.
