We had the good fortune of connecting with Aerryel White-Clarke and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aerryel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind creating B.Eclectic Brand is we believe style is a direct reflection of art. We create artisan handcrafted accessories that are timeless statements. Our pieces are inspired from our travels and love of culture and diversity within individual style. Crafting pieces which are beautiful and timeless is our pledge.
At B.ECLECTIC BRAND, we create every product with the utmost thought and attention to detail. We prioritize distinctive design, timeless textiles and durability over fashion trends. Our handbags and accessories are artisan statement pieces purposefully designed to start a conversation.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets B.Eclectic Brand apart from other design companies is our commitment to creating one-of-a-kind wearable art. We are most proud that so many people are valuing and supporting our brand. We are most excited that we have remained true to our vision. The journey to where we are has not been easy but, it has definitely been worth it. The challenges that were overcome were undoubtedly because of a strong support system. Three of the greatest lessons learned: remember to ask for help, remember to accept the help when offered, you can never go wrong when you bet on yourself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A weekend in Columbus would include the following:
Breakfast: Stav’s Diner in Bexley, OH everything on the menu I have tried has been great but, my order is the #1 (egg whites, Home fries with green peppers and onions, Turkey sausage links, and challah toast)
Super Chef’s in Gahanna, OH, great breakfast and drink options to enjoy any day of the week. It’s the Pineapple Upside Down pancakes for me.
Lunch: Flavor 91, Whitehall, OH, the burgers are great but my favorite are their wings. Great for lunch and cocktails.
Lunch/Dinner/Coaktails: Adella’s on Oak, great menu options and many vegan options as well.
North Market: is great for fresh vegetables and meats and great meal options, desserts, coffee, etc..
Exploring: COSI, science museum; Ohio State Fair, Columbus Museum of Art, Ohio State Football game, the many markets through out the city two of my favorites are the Sunlight and Moonlight Market
Shopping: Easton, Polaris are great for shopping.
Night Life: The Short North great area to walk and explore the many restaurants and bars.
Dinner: Hen Quarter, great food, drinks and live jazz two nights a week.
Here are just a few a my favorite places.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout has to good hands down to my mother. She has always encouraged and supported my endeavors. Her support has allowed me to continue forward in growing the business. Business has it ups and downs but a great support system does not waiver.
