We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrienne Prather and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrienne, what inspires you?
I am inspired by seeing people fulfill their passion and living out their dreams. I am also inspired by stories that enrich lives and create opportunities for others. I love seeing successful, driven and motivated people.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am excited about being able to express myself creatively through my words, writing books and also through jewelry making. I knew at a younger age that writing would be my connection to the world. When it came to writing, I would look for opportunities to share my work.

I remember going to Nubian Bookstore in Southlake Mall and looking at books and asking questions. It was there first where my dream of being a published author became a reality.

I believe that every opportunity, rather it’s big or small is a blessing that leads to bigger opportunities. You just have to persevere, believe in your dreams and stay away from dream stealers.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During the week long itinerary we would visit the MLK Center, Centennial Park. For Breakfast, we would visit Milk and Honey, Gocha’s Breakfast Bar and Two Eggs.

For lunch or dinner we would visit
The Flying Biscuit, Blaze, The Old Lady Gang, Chatahoochee Food and a few chain restaurants.

I would also include the High Museum and Botanical Gardens. If there is an event at the Fox Theatre we will dress up and head there. To get our roll on we would go to Skate Zone in Morrow, Georgia.

At night we would go to Savoy Bar and Grill, Moto’s or Dave and Busters.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank the Lord, my parents and everyone who encouraged me along the way. I am thankful for my supportive friends and family. To everyone who purchased a book, supported me, applauded my efforts and believed in my dreams I thank you!

Thanks to every Bookstore who carrries my books and allowed me to have a Book signing, I am extremely grateful. I would also like to extend a special thank you to the following Bookstores. Thanks to Medu Bookstore(Nia Damali), Nubian Bookstore, Marcus Williams and Tree of Knowledge Bookstore, (Henry Carter) thanks for supporting my vision of being a published author.

I would also like to thank Rowana Abbensetts of Spoken Black Girl Magazine for providing me an opportunity to display my love of poetry in her beautiful Spoken Black Girl Magazine. I’ve been a contributor in 4 issues and I am truly grateful!

I am truly grateful for every opportunity I have to display my gifts and talents.
