We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrieanna Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrieanna, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Our family business , The Vegan Sweetie LLC began in 2019 when my mother who has been baking non-vegan goods for 20 years plus was reintroduced to her passion for making delicious desserts.
Her reintroduction to baking began during her journey into a more holistically healthy lifestyle and was brought on by positive physical , spiritual and mental changes and with these changes The Vegan Sweetie was born. Taking the risk to dive into vegan baked goods was well worth it and we continue to see an increase in the need for vegan and allergy/free treats in our community.
Risks are always tools for growth that can help grow a business. Often times taking risks has a negative association. It is important to take risks especially as a new business owner , you have to find that niche that sweet spot or perfect recipe to make whatever you’re doing work and stick, without taking risks none of that is possible. Most of the time we have to face what we are afraid to get the results we seek. Taking risks is where the magic happens!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Faith and Gods grace help us stay on our path. We appreciate the journey as we continue to grow our business.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of the most exciting places in atlanta are minority owned. I would tell them to swing by moods music for music , candles , mantra mugs , crystals and anything related to healing and Vegan treats from the vegan sweetie.
Sevananda has a really great plant based food section and variety.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We dedicate this shoutout to everybody who believes in our seed and continues to help water our baby. Special shout out to stretch atl and Mr. Darryl at Moods Music atl!! much love.
