Meet Adonis Blackwood | Photographer and Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adonis Blackwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adonis, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have been a lover of the arts from as long as i remember. I started out drawing as a child, then dance, photography and videography. I still currently do everything i mentioned, with the exception drawing, I chose an artistic career because it is fulfilling to me, it literally makes me happy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Its definitely a challenge, especially because I’m the sole proprietor of Donis Studios, I direct, shoot and edit all photos and videos. I was able to overcome my challenges by investing in myself and not making the same mistake twice. I just want people to know that i like to experiment with my camera, I like to push boundaries.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Aquarium is dope, i like the selfie museum for obvious reasons and as far as food is concerned, im Jamaican so you know i have to go with Scotchies in Buckhead.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a huge shout out to an establishment called “Tropic Isle Living” here in ATL, they are best known for their hair products such as the Jamaican Castor Oil and many more. I would like to give them a huge shout out and a big thank you for trusting me with creating visuals for their products!
