Meet Adam Charles: Beard Serum Chemist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Charles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As I began my search for products to satisfy my skin and body’s needs, I found myself searching far and wide only to find a few products for men’s care. When I found one I liked; it was on a sale shelf with no way to purchase again, or they discontinued the products. Beard oil was becoming increasingly difficult to find in stores and the products offered online were either too costly or didn’t have the ingredients that I knew I wanted for my beard and skin. I thought to myself enough is enough! I decided to take matters into my own hands and start creating my own oils and soaps – I ended up loving them! So much so I want to share them with the world! Once a recipe was created, my product offered me results that the products sold in stores that I used in the past did not. My beard was growing exponentially, my skin was smooth and free of blemishes, and the best part – it smelled absolutely amazing! In looking for an entrepreneurial venture it was the perfect marriage for satisfying a need in a necessary and growing market of beard owners and aficionados.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
By night I save beards one scrappy patch at a time, by day I actually teach Digital Information Technology at the High School level. In addition to that I coach basketball and football. What sets me apart from my peers is my ability to problem solve and relate to my students. My experiences growing up whether positive or negative allow me to make a positive impact on our youth. In teaching within the Covid – 19 pandemic there are many challenges for students and teachers alike. We are overcoming this together and finding new ways to teach and connect. I want to world to know that what I go through and what I look like are not the same. If I had to I would consider my self a superhero – Husband, father, teacher, coach, entrepreneur & of course, beard owner.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For me it has to be the local tastes and entertainment. I happened to be very partial to outdoor waterfront dining. There a few of my favorites that I would take them to near the beach, then we would make it a beach day. Next is the history that the city was built upon. There’s a lot of wealth here so it holds as a reminder and motivator that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. We also have a lot of wildlife in the form of zoos and animal conservatoires both land and water, those are always fun to visit. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I cannot have any of this without recognizing my family. My wife first and foremost, is always supportive of my business ideas and is extremely patient during the research and development process, aka oils, bottles, and the organized chaos created by the scientist all over our home. When I take on a venture it happens with 100 percent focus, intensity, and effort. The diligence put into my work is something I pride myself in; her understanding of that is always appreciated. I will also like to shout out my best friend, If I say I’m thinking about something, you can bet on it that a research call is coming in moments of me mentioning there’s a possibility I want to start a business. It can be an article, a social media page, or even products in the stores that have a potential to be a threat, he will let me know about immediately. Its great to have like minded business brains in your circle.
