We had the good fortune of connecting with Ace May and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ace, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Naturally I’ve always been an artistic soul since a child, and a lot of my sources of happiness have to do with my creativity. So, falling in love with music at a young age only led me straight into a career of being a musician. It was so organic

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a singer, songwriter and musician. Along this journey of discovering myself and my purpose, I’ve dedicated my intention to healing and spreading love through my art. I’m very proud of my portfolio and most recent body of work “22 The Album”. It’s honest, raw and my best work yet. I’m very happy and pleased with the many great responses I have received in regards to my album! It has taken many days/nights of sacrifice, and putting my music first. It’s also taken persistency for me to get where I am today. There were so many days I didn’t get enough sleep or I had to put in work over time to make this vision come true for myself. I taught myself how to engineer and record professionally just so I could produce the quality that I knew my music deserved. Although it soaked up so much of my time learning that trade, ultimately it has been a blessing for me. In the bigger picture, it had served me wonderfully. I understand the concept of sound in a much more expanded way. The journey wasn’t always necessarily “easy” however, it was easy to stay committed. It didn’t matter how difficult certain stages were, I never once felt like it was enough to make me quit. Maybe there were times where I took breaks because things may have been overwhelming but when something is meant for you, the love never dies. And being in this career field has been more and more freeing and liberating as the years go on. I want the world to know that I have the same tools as the next person, I just made a choice to follow the thing that makes my heart sing, and you should too!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a nature person, so I’d definitely recommend going to Roswell waterfall or visit the Chattahoochee river and go tubing! Get out in the sun and commune with nature! I’d also recommend eating at Intermezzo Cafe & Soul Vegetarian in Atlanta! Amazing!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to give a special shout-out to my father. My hero, inspiration and biggest support since day one. My father is also an artist. From luxury remodeling on houses, drawing & painting, and being the best freestyler on any beat, this guy hands down has always encouraged me to embrace my creativity. All of these passions I’ve had the pleasure of sharing with him throughout my life. He believed in me and understood me in a way that no one else did at the start of my career.
