We had the good fortune of connecting with Abrahim “Mr Dripset” Berete and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abrahim, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Coming into the business world I didn’t come in it for the money I came in knowing there were goals in this world that I had to fulfill & just wanting to lead as example for people who are scared to follow there dream. I was always known for the way I dress and the types of clothes I would wear so starting a brand wasn’t something hard because I knew exactly what I was getting myself into and people knew I wouldn’t make anything that I wouldn’t wear. So everyone in my high school would come to me to customize their clothing which lead to my high school allowing me to do custom clothes for spirit week. Once I graduate high school at age 17 I started my own brand which is I would call “Dripset Studios” the name randomly came about but the name and brand stand for someone who stayed down till they came up didn’t listen to what anybody had to say and just stayed consistent. Out the gate, I started making fashionable bulletproof vests which would end up going viral and being seen on many big artists(Pop Smoke, Bouba Savage, Phresher, Jay Guwapo,KJ Balla & More).

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What makes my brand different is my marketing, my designs and how our releases are very limited it bring that excitement to the consumers that every drop is almost exclusive. I just proud of the growth I have made as a brand and designer as a whole my quality of clothing is getting better my business knowledge is getting better and we just launched our website so the brand is definitely getting bigger and better in all types of forms. I got to where I’m at now from just being consistent really that’s literally the recipe being consistent and risk taking. Others would say it’s been smooth for me on the outside looking in but it hasn’t. I beat myself up a lot about trying to make all my designs perfect & wanting to sell out fast. Getting scammed thousands of dollars by manufacturers which sets me back weeks sometimes even months to drop date, it’s even worse when I have already put a date out to the public and didn’t plan on changing it. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that we are for the people I’m not here to just sell the world clothes and go about my business I like to get to know who I’m selling to show them the love and thought that goes into each release and just knowing the brand your buying from is a brand that started from literally nothing but a dream I started out in my room distressing hats and bleaching them and selling them locally. Fast forward To how where I’m at almost 6 years in & about 6 collections of clothing I have become a well-known brand working with even bigger names traveling back and forth from Atlanta and many other states, styling rappers in my pieces as well as selling online, I’m currently working on signing a deal with a label I can’t disclose and becoming the first fashion designer to sign with a rap label which has been my dream.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well a lot of my friends are celebrities(rappers) so most definitely we would stop by the studio for a couple hours. For eating I would definitely recommend we go to Copper Cove restaurant is well known for its amazing vibe and having daily celebrity clientele. A good location for us to go site seeing would be “the trap museum” everyone goes there whenever they are in Atlanta.
