We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Hilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaron, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Initially I just wanted to have an outlet while working behind the scenes in the sports media industry. Being able to do this with Malik, it became more about connecting with my friend and just having fun talking sports and pop culture.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I first moved to Atlanta, I had just been let go from my dream job. It hurt. I was at a low point in my life and career. I just went back to basics. I needed money, so I went back to the food industry to make quick cash. I was fortunate enough to run into April while bartending in Camp Creek, and she put in a word for me with the Hawks. From there just making connections and fostering relationships has gotten me an extensive freelance media portfolio in my adoptive home.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First thing is first, we need to get to Chicas Birria for some Birria pizza at some point. If we doin brunch, we gotta go to Toast on Lenox. Best French toast in the city, and the drinks will have you calling an Uber, even if you drove there. Finish the night at one of the hookah spots in town. If it’s a Saturday, XPerience lounge is probably the way to go, especially if there’s a game or fight that night.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve mentioned Malik and will continue to do so throughout, because without him, there is no No Rules Podcast. However, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention my tribe: my mom, my sister LaRae, my friends Sid, Nigel, Shemar, Gerard, Lauren, Maurice, Tantus, Yaw, Jerv. There’s too many to name them all.
