Meet Aaron DeCoux | Fashion Designer; Poet; Recording Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron DeCoux and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
To gain true freedom in all sense of the word. It’s a giant leap into self sustainability.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a poet, recording artist, creative director, and fashion designer. There are a lot of things that set me apart but I think the one that I’m most proud of is my originality no matter what medium I’m using. I have been creating since a child so realizing that accumulated experience at the grown age of 25 encouraged me to pursue my art professionally. It definitely wasn’t an easy route and still isn’t, but Im thankful for every obstacle I’ve faced during this journey.
The one thing I will always want the world to know is that Saint DeCoux & Co. and Leauxeyed are for the people and children. Saint DeCoux & Co is a fashion brand with a focus on sustainability and the artisan community. Leauxeyed is an artist who speaks to the average individual.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, originally I’m from New Orleans, LA, now residing in Huntsville, AL. However, I could give an example of both. Huntsville is a little big city with some cool places to eat. A week’s itinerary would mostly consist of hiking and other outdoor activities as well as enjoying some local artists.
In New Orleans, it’s entirely too much to get into. From the bars to museums to the general recreational activities that the city provides. My top food places however would be Broad and Banks, Cajun’s, any Brothers, and Chicken and Watermelon.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can say that this journey has not been a lonely one. I’d like to show gratitude to Rel FromTheQ6 and B.R.A.S.H (Be Real and Stay Humble) for always supporting me whether I was music or fashion.
I’d like to shout out and show gratitude to Sound On the Hill, for the networking opportunities that allowed progress as an artist and fashion designer.
I want to thank C-Funq and Pollo Papi for being dope artists and creative influences.
Gratitude to my brother William Baker for being the creative influence he has been for most of the last decade.
Gratitude and love to Garielle, for being the creative influence and support system she is.
Special thanks to Ma Dukes for birthing me and to all who have supported in some form or fashion while on this journey.
