We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaliyah Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aaliyah, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
As of now, I am currently a Selling Business Manager at a department store working full-time. It can be a challenge finding time to work on my blog, and create content on a consistent basis. I’m working on finding time management techniques that will be beneficial for me to find the balance that I need.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my blog Aaliyah Grace a few months ago where I post content about the things I love which are: fashion, beauty, inspiration, and all things lifestyle. On the blog, you’ll find fashion/style inspiration, beauty product reviews, various makeup looks, makeup/skincare routines, beauty/fashion hauls, and inspiration posts.

My main goal is to establish a REAL connection with my audience by creating aesthetically pleasing and engaging content, all the while building an empire.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my best friend comes to visit Atlanta, I would love to take her to Breakfast at Barney’s to do brunch. Afterward, we’d do a little shopping at my favorite place Perimeter Mall, and have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. We would also hit up some of the historical sites in Atlanta. Because I love to shop, we would do some more shopping at Lenox Square, get pampered at Treat Your Feet, and maybe catch a Hawks game at State Farm Arena.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I read the book “Do It Afraid” by Joyce Meyer not too long ago, and it really blessed me. The book taught me that even when you are afraid to go forward with what God has called you to do, “do it afraid” and trust Him even more. I also took from the book to activate your Faith. The book states when you have faith that something will take place, you have it in your heart first when you believe it, and in God’s perfect timing you will have it in reality. I can say reading this book helped me take steps of faith to start my business. I am so glad I did!
