We had the good fortune of connecting with 1ne Chance and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi 1ne chance, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Music has always been in my heart. Growing up I was surrounded by many different genres, from hip hop to gospel country r&b etc so I believe that played a role but more than anything I just love the creative process of putting things together, and music became an outlet for me to get things off my chest.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So I’m a Christian/inspirational rap artist. My journey started in a small town (Asheville N.C at the age of 12 when I first began rapping. Some short years later after finding myself in a space that I really didn’t want to continue in. Selling drugs, doing drugs and following the wrong path. I decided to give my life to Jesus as somewhat of a restart.

I believe what sets me apart is just my finger print.. I’ve said this before, no one person on the face of this earth has the same fingerprint, not even twins…. I don’t believe that’s a coincidence. God created us all unique in our own ways. So I’m gonna always bring what only I can bring to the table because that’s the way God created it to be. No one can be me and I can’t be anyone else… even if what we have looks the same.

I’m most proud of the person I’ve become along the journey.. I’ve been through some hard things that could’ve made me bitter but by God’s grace I chose to let it make me better. I’m proud to say that I still have love even after facing the things I’ve faced. But im super excited abt a lot of things in my life… working on a new album. I finally have my own recording studio and I’ve been blessed to use my life to impact youth. Going forward I just pray for a continuation of being impactful.

I’ve come a really long way in my journey. Growing up in the hood. Surrounded by drug activity and having those things take so many of my peers out. Not that I’m happy About their lost but knowing that I could’ve had that same demise kinda gives me a gratitude for life. I got to where I’m at today by a lot of helping hands, hard work and more than anything, Gods grace. The journey hasn’t been easy but it’s definitely been worth it

I overcame a lot of those obstacles by simply depending on God and just trusting that if he brought me to it, he’ll bring me through it. Hasn’t failed me yet.

One lesson I’ve learned in particular is that you can never go wrong by making God the head of your life. If you acknowledge God in all your ways, he will definitely make sure you get to where you need to be. I’ve learned that through experience.

First and foremost I love God… he saved me and nothing can compare to my gratitude for that. But besides that, I’m a down to earth guy from the hood that enjoys being creative with my music and hopefully I can continue to use my light to be impactful until my time is up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Fun spots 🤔 I don’t do a whole lot of hanging but I’d have to say Atlantic station is a pretty cool place to check out. It has shopping food and some gaming areas. That’s a place I’d recommend for sure

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out my mom! She’s always been a constant support in my life, even when I didn’t have the faith to believe in myself, she always encouraged me to trust God and his plan for my life. Of course I’ve had so many people lend me a hand along my journey.. shout out to all those people ( too many to name at this time) but I’m grateful for them as well
