We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiera Walters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiera, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of my business is that it’s not a hobby, it’s a passion. Styling is something I overall just love to do, it just comes easy to me. I can literally see a piece of clothing & ideas just start popping up in my head.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m always excited when I get new clients or more people recognize my work in general. I’m always honored a person chose me to create them an outfit. They could have did it themselves or went to someone else, but I came to mind & that’s what pushes me to keep going. Somebody is always watching, when you have a gift that’s true to you people will see that because it will reflect in your work. I don’t feel like styling is a practice makes perfect kind of thing. I just feel like it’s in you not on you. That’s what sets me apart. There aren’t many challenges I face in this business, but I can say as I elevate I do get more requests for things I never thought i’d be styling for. Those aren’t challenges though, they just expand my range in versatility. I love it though, because when it comes to a outfit imma put it together no matter the occasion. That’s what I want people to know about me, I ensure my customers love their outfit(s) when it’s all said & done.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, my bestfriend might have to create the itinerary himself, lol. He actually is from this area & I’m not, but I do want to get out & do more. I’m young so I feel like I should experience the finer things in life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The two people I talk to the most deserve recognition for pushing me to do more, to be greater, to realize my own potential. My bestfriend Mari & a friend who is like a sister to me, Ber are always reassuring me of my talents. They’re just waiting on me to put myself out there. Honestly, sometimes I hold my own self back. All it takes is consistency, great marketing, & exposure. I know people are watching, but they have always been my biggest supporters watching from the sidelines.
