We had the good fortune of connecting with Isis Tiara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isis, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I am a mother of 2 beautiful little girls, and I think the most important thing I have taught them is love is not monetary value; it is an action. It is genuine and it is not conditional.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what sets me apart from others is me. Literally you can see “me” in every style that I do from the color scheme, the precision, the designs and more. It literally screams “ISIS”! I love the free will and the creativity I can express on each hairstyle. I love how my clients and I interact as well and that they trust me enough to just pick a style and go with it. That right there makes my heart jump, that they trust me so much, they just are like, “do whatever@, and it just flows. Was it always this easy? Of course not. There would be days clientele would skyrocket, and then others there would be nothing at all. KEEP GOING! You have to first have a dream, believe in the dream, before you can sell that dream. You have to build tough skin and understand that not everyone will support you and that’s okay! Everyone is not meant to be at the same table as you; the elevation is not the same.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely check out By George. The drinks will have you out and the service is immaculate! Be sure you ask for Rodney as well. If you’re a person that’s into rage rooms, check out Smash N Dash Rage room. It will definitely let you blow off some steam and you’ll even get to take a masterpiece home with you after the paint rage room.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God deserves ALL the glory! Without him, none of this would even be possible. He gifted me with such creativity and I just always remember that in all things, I have to praise him for it first; and my mother would be directly afterwards. She encourages me each time to be the best version of me, all awhile watching my children so that I am able to peruse my dreams and be all that I can be for them. That is such a blessing because many people do not have that support system, and I am fortunate enough to have it.
