Often we don’t have to reinvent the wheel to learn something new – we can just ask experts in the field who can draw on their experience to enlighten us. Below, we’ve shared insights insiders from various industries have shared with us.

Kimberly Haase | CEO/Founder

When it comes to senior healthcare, people rarely give this demographic group a thought once a crisis arises. The number of adults aged 65 and older has increased since 2019, growing at a faster rate than the general national population. “Over the past five years, home care providers in the US industry have grown by 3.7%, reaching a revenue of $99 billion in 2019. In the same time frame, the number of businesses has increased by 3.3%.” The aging population’s preference for homecare instead of hospital stays are factors that make homecare a growing part of the health care sector. At iLoveKare, we believe that aging adults want to age in place. A place that they choose to grow old in. Our mission is to enable clients with physical, emotional, and mental capabilities that promote a healthy lifestyle wherever they choose to live. Read more>>

Dayle Bennett | Creative consultant, Teacher & Speaker

One thing about my industry that outsiders are unaware of is that creatives come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. We don’t all do the same things in the same way. Not all creatives are quiet and live as hermits. Some of us are loud, expressive, and some of us are soft-spoken. We are not a catch-all of talent. We are thinkers, problem solvers, and most of all makers of joy. Read more>>

Edie Weintraub | we advise emerging restaurant + entertainment concepts + real estate owners + developers on crafting their story to secure the right partners to create neighborhood community through food + fun

What my team and I do goes well beyond a plug and play model. We are educators. Honored to work with established brands such as Millers Ale House and City Barbeque, our differentiator is that we offer emerging concepts and developers guidance by becoming members of the team to fine tune the brand story in order to put our best foot forward for our presentation to owners or operators. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing a new brand we’ve advised grow and excel. We are story tellers. Before we even begin searching for sites or creating a merchandise mix, we review and evaluate the brand presentation and identity. For emerging restaurant concepts or entertainment operators, we digest where we’ve been, what successes and failures we’ve had to date to determine a strategy for our path forward. Read more>>

Shayla Bryant | Natural Birth Advocate & Founder of Malawi’s House

Black women are at a higher risk of dying 3 times more likely from pregnancy and childbirth related causes than White women. For an example, per 100,000 live births, 40 Black women die compared to 14 non-Hispanic White women. That’s a 40-man roster baseball team vs. a 12 player roster volleyball team. In addition, the infant mortality rates of Black infants are dying 2 times more per 1,000 live births. More information and data can be found at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Overall, the number of deaths amongst the rates of Black maternal mortality and Black infant mortality continue to rise at an alarming rate, which is quite disturbing. Families that are seeking alternatives to support them in their pregnancy and childbirth journey are looking into home births and/or working with a Midwife or Doula. Read more>>
