We had the good fortune of connecting with Gloria Fennell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gloria, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
When I first became a licensed cosmetologist I thought that the more Time I spent working it would show that I’m dedicated to the “Hair World “ but as time went on I was just tired and wouldn’t see my baby til he was sleep . I’m now learning to balance my social and work life out a little bit better . With COVID happening and having to stay home I’ve learned that it’s easy to over work yourself and not make time for other important factors in life you have to have balance . Now that I’m back to my regular work schedule Im making sure that I make more time for my son and myself , working all the time til you are dead tired isnt healthy .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Licensed cosmetologist owner of GloriousStylez I’m excited for what ever god has in store for GloriousStylez who I’m going to work with next and where my career path will take me next … I have a really good feeling that all my dreams will come true …. the sky’s the limit

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
One of my go to spots right now is The Beverly on glen wood they have really good salmon egg rolls and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and friends … I knew that going out on my own was a risk but I knew that I couldn’t wake up every day clocking into work. When I told my family they didn’t even question my decision and helped out how ever they could ,helped me with taking care of my son when I would work long hours, when I needed time to relax , classes to help further my career and hasn’t asked for anything in return . My son ..he motivates me everyday to work towards my dreams <3 And God of course
