Meet Deja Williams | CEO, Entrepreneur & Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Deja Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deja, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is faith. Having faith has played a key role in where I am today. As an entrepreneur or just anyone with a dream no one can see your vision but you and God and sometimes our current circumstances make that vision or dream seem impossible. That’s when faith comes in, believing in something that hasn’t yet come to pass. When I started my business, I didn’t know what the future held but at that moment I had faith that I could build something extraordinary. Without faith I wouldn’t have come this far in my journey. I also want to mention that every day is not a good day being an entrepreneur. At times I do get weary, but all it takes is a little faith even if it’s the size of a mustard seed.

What should our readers know about your business?
DE’JERI is about to take over the fashion world with its uniqueness. My mission is to allow my generation to acknowledge the fact that you don’t have to be half naked to make a statement. Class goes a long way; it actually gets you further. My focus is to be the opposite of the culture and bring back respect and integrity amongst the millennials. I’m different from my competitors because I actually want to cater to the younger generation, not just gain sales. I am a millennial myself, so I have firsthand primary knowledge of what is actually going on in this new world and how badly it is affecting us. As stated before, I want to cater to the younger generation and change the norm of society. I’m excited about changing how the world looks at my generation but more specifically how the young women are viewed in today’s world. Getting to where I am today was definitely not easy and I still have so much more to learn and go through. I have faced many trials and tribulations but through it all you must keep going. I overcome every challenge by looking at it from a student’s point of view. I’m learning now it’s okay to fail and every failure gives you an opportunity to learn and become greater. When you get knocked down get back up and try again. I want the world to know that DE’JERI will reintroduce the importance of dressing for success. I want to reiterate how important positive impressions are but also allow young women to come outside of the box society has put us in. I am going to make a statement with my fashion line showing the world we are so much more than just our body and appearances. I want to change lives, shake the culture and break curses, I’m going to knock the world off its feet.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming to visit, she might be bored with having me as her tour guide. Atlanta is a very beautiful city, but I don’t get out much. Currently I am working on coming out of my comfort zone, getting out more and networking with other people. There’s much to do. I would bring her too a few interests I’m exploring. We would go to a dance session at ADCS dance studio in Decatur ga, then pick a few days to restaurant hop because I’m a big foodie and then maybe go get a massage or two. Closing the week with a fashion show. and the view at the top of stone mountain.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can shoutout a few amazing people god has placed in my life especially the beautiful strong woman who raised me, my mother, but I want to publicly thank God. He has helped me in so many ways. I’m forever grateful for his mercy and grace. He took my faith that was the size of a mustard seed and gave me vision, strength and wisdom to handle the legacy I’m building. He deserves all the credit without a doubt. This journey is not easy, but he hasn’t left my side, nor has he allowed anything to happen he knew I couldn’t overcome.
